It’s time to unleash the cuteness at our “Dog Days of Summer” Fashion Dog Show — happening Tuesday, July 15th at 2:30 PM!
Whether you’re bringing your pup in their summer best collections or just want to enjoy the show, everyone’s invited to join the fun. Our residents absolutely love dogs, and they can’t wait to see the paws-itively adorable styles on display. 🐶👗

Stars, Stripes & Smiles at Our 4th of July Family Dinner Party!
What a BLAST we had celebrating Independence Day together! Families gathered, laughter echoed, and the energy was electric as the incredibly talented Jimi took the stage and got everyone up on their feet—singing, dancing, and soaking in the joy of the evening.
We were thrilled to welcome four prospective couples to the celebration, and it was especially meaningful when one lovely daughter and her mom felt so at home, they made a deposit right after dinner. 💙 That’s what community feels like!
Chef outdid himself with a mouthwatering menu that had everyone coming back for seconds. We had smoked Prime Rib & BBQ Quail (yes, Chef braved the summer heat to smoke them to perfection! Baked Beans, Dirt Rice, and Potato Salad, that hit all the right notes. And for dessert? Peach Cobbler topped with Peach Gelato—a sweet Southern finale that had folks swooning.
From the delicious food to the dancing and heartfelt connections, it was a night to remember. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it so special. Here's to freedom, family, and unforgettable memories!

🍓A Berry Special Thank You! 🍓
We’re sending a big thank you to family member Joyce Murray for bringing such joy and flavor to our Lodge this week! Joyce led a delightful strawberry parfait activity that had our residents and other family members smiling from ear to ear. Each resident got to design their own layered creation with fresh strawberries, creamy yogurt, and crunchy clusters.

Not only was it a fun and creative way to spend the afternoon, but the results were as beautiful as they were delicious. A perfect, healthy treat for the summer season.

June at Worthington Manor was the perfect kickoff to a fun-filled summer! From designing our own t-shirts and tie-dyeing socks to enjoying tasty restaurant outings, the month was packed with creativity and laughter.

Residents embarked on an exciting in-house 3-day “cruise,” complete with passports, themed activities, and festive flair. We sipped on Sonic shakes, crafted beautiful seashell art, dipped our toes in the pool to cool off, and even cruised through the stores in search of the perfect summer attire.

With games, smiles, and sunshine, June was a blast—and we’re already setting sail for a fabulous and festive July!

🌍✨ A Night on the Serengeti at Worthington Manor ✨🌍
Last night, Worthington Manor transformed into the heart of the African Serengeti for an unforgettable themed dinner! Guests savored a culinary safari crafted by the talented Chef Eddie, featuring:
🍗 Kuku Pak – Coconut-stewed chicken
🐟 Thieboudienne – African snapper fish
🍚 Jollof – Spiced fried rice
🌿 Okuru – Tender okra
🍌 Alloco – Sweet plantains
🍩 Puff Puff – Irresistible donut bites
🍸 Nyeri Harvest Bliss – A coffee-infused spiced vodka delight
The evening came alive with the rhythmic tribal drums of Baba Abiono Ogunrinde, setting the stage for dancing, laughter, and a spirited safari hunt—complete with a wild zebra and a very determined lion on the prowl!
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible families, dedicated staff, and wonderful residents for making this night a roaring success.

What a remarkable day! We had a wonderful turnout to celebrate George’s 104th birthday—a proud WWII Army Air Corps veteran. The celebration became even more special with the presence of Robert Putnam, who shares the same birthday and was ringing in an incredible 107 years!
A heartfelt thank you to Montgomery Texas Yard Cards for making our drive-by celebration extra festive, and to Misty Chambers with Spring Trading Post for the beautifully crafted wood box to hold George’s book, No Thought For Tomorrow. Your thoughtful touches made the day unforgettable.
🎈 A big thank-you to the Montgomery Veterans group for the cheerful birthday balloons—they brought so much joy and color to the celebration!
🎂 We’re also deeply grateful to Alamo Hospice for generously providing the drinks and cake—your kindness added such a sweet note to the day.
🎶 The joy was contagious as everyone joined in singing with the talented Paul Hartwell, whose performance brought smiles all around.
It was a day full of gratitude, music, and memories—one we’ll cherish for years to come.
