Everyone’s looking for the next thing…

The new supplement
The recovery tool
The shortcut

Meanwhile the basics are getting ignored:

Regular movement
Sleep hygiene
Stress management
A solid support system
Whole foods

It’s simple.
Not easy.
But simple.

Had a lot of great conversations at the Cookeville Wellness Fair!

Really interesting seeing how many people shared similar experiences, especially around what they’ve been told about their bodies.

Pain doesn’t just hurt… it changes behavior.

And a lot of those changes come from narratives that deserve a closer look.

Pain can shape the story. Building capacity can change it.

Tightness can mean adaptation, protection, fatigue, or sensitivity. The real question is why it’s there.

Excited to be at the Cookeville Wellness Fair this Saturday.

At Illuminate, I take a different approach: less quick fixes, more understanding your pain, your goals, and building a plan that actually fits your life. If you’re looking for someone to partner with you in the process (not just treat you and send you on your way), come by and say hey.

Would love to meet you.

Knee pain is common in runners, volleyball players, and other jumping athletes—especially when training starts ramping up.

More jumps.
More sprint work.
More lifting.

When training load increases faster than the knee can adapt, the area can become sensitive.

Before focusing on exercises, it helps to identify the trigger:
When does it show up? During jumps? After practice? With squats or lunges?

Once you find the pattern, you can adjust the dose:
• jump volume
• intensity
• squat or lunge depth
• training frequency
• surface or footwear

If the trigger doesn’t change, recovery usually stalls.

Give these exercises a try at your current tolerance:

2x8
1. Quad sets
2. Quad sets with band over pressure
3. Straight leg raise (add weight for more difficulty)
4. Banded total knee extension
5. Single leg balance 2x30sec

2x8-12
6. Box squat (add weight for more difficulty)
7. Lateral step down (add weight or range for more difficulty)
8. Front foot elevated split squat (add weight or range for more difficulty)

2x4-6
10. Box jumps
11. Depth falls
12. Multi direction hops / sport specific plyometrics

Excited to be part of the Cookeville Wellness Fair on March 28.

While pain can feel very physical, it’s rarely just one thing. My approach is about zooming out; looking at movement, stress, training load, recovery habits, and the bigger picture that shapes how pain behaves.

If you’re in Cookeville, come say hello. I’d love to meet you and talk about your experience.

💡 “Pain Is a Signal — Not the Whole Story.”

Meet Dr. Logan Lamb, chiropractor at Illuminate Health, where understanding pain means looking beyond symptoms and shedding light on the entire experience.

True healing doesn’t come from chasing discomfort — it comes from understanding the full picture.

Logan’s approach focuses on the whole person by considering:

Physical structure and movement patterns

Emotional stress and nervous system load

Psychological factors that influence recovery

By addressing the full spectrum of influences on your health, care becomes more comprehensive — and results become more meaningful and lasting.

🌿 Whether you're recovering from injury, dealing with chronic pain, or simply want to move better, Illuminate Health offers a deeper, more intentional path to healing.

You’ve probably heard some version of this before:

“Your pelvis is tilted.”
“One shoulder sits higher.”
“Your knees cave in.”

And suddenly it feels like we’ve found the reason for your pain.

Consider this:

Just because we can see something… doesn’t mean it’s causing the problem.

Lots of people have a pelvic tilt and no pain.
Lots of people have uneven shoulders and no pain.
Lots of people’s knees move inward, and they function just fine.

Human bodies are adaptable, not symmetrical machines.

Now, observing movement still matters.
It can help guide exercise choices and strategy.

But observation shouldn’t automatically turn into blame.

Here’s the part that surprises people:

Many individuals improve their pain without changing their posture, joint position, or movement pattern at all.

This suggests the “flaw” wasn’t the true driver.

Different doesn’t automatically mean dysfunctional.

Sometimes the body just needs capacity, confidence, and exposure, not correction.
