Just because you can’t see the mold, it doesn’t mean it’s not there!
⚠️It’s more than “a little bit of mold.”
So next time someone tries to “remediate” without proper engineering controls, remember this post!
It’s impossible to see a single mold spore with the naked eye. By the time you notice visible mold growth, you’re likely looking at tens of millions of spores.
To put that in perspective:
👉 “A single colony of Penicillium just 2.5 cm in diameter (about an area the size of a quarter) can contain up to 400,000,000 spores.”*
And spores are only part of the problem.
👉 For every 1 spore, there may be as many as 320 fungal fragments floating around.**
Bottom line: Mold isn’t just about what’s visible—it’s the invisible spores and fragments.
