Last call! I look forward to discussing the details about prediabetes and steps to take to reduce risk of developing type II diabetes.

As Prediabetes can be asymptomatic, it's an optimal time to change the narrative and focus on regaining optimal function of blood sugar regulation before it progresses further.

Can’t believe it’s been a year with Total Health and Healing Center! It’s gone by so quickly and it’s been wonderful to be a part of a great team and community of healers! Happy for the hard work of my patients as well as they understand health is a journey not a destination. Thank you for entrusting me with being on your care team North Metro!

Cynthia, having you back with us this year has been such a joy and a true gift to our space. Your work in massage and dynamic body balancing brings deep healing, comfort, and connection to everyone you see. You have a beautiful way of making people feel seen, supported, and cared for, and that impact reaches far beyond the treatment room. Your gentle presence, welcoming smile, and genuine kindness uplift not only your patients but also your co-workers each day. We are so grateful for the heart you bring to your work and the positive energy you share so freely. Happy Anniversary!

Dr. Bri, your knowledge, wisdom, and dedication to healing are truly a blessing to THHC. Having a naturopathic doctor available to support our patients has made such a meaningful difference, and we are so grateful for the care you provide. You take the time to truly listen, to get to know each patient as a whole person, and to treat not just symptoms but the root causes with compassion and intention. Your thoughtful, patient-centered approach creates trust, hope, and lasting healing. Thank you for the heart, expertise, and presence you bring —we are incredibly thankful to have you as part of our team. Happy Anniversary!

One of my faves…. The cilantro, lime,chili oil marinade is 😋 🌿 🍋‍🟩 🌶️

A recipe from a Whole Foods Production course I took as an elective at taught by Cynthia Lair.

Her cookbook “Feeding the Whole Family” is one of my go-to’s that has wonderful tips and tricks for parents to focus on a Whole Foods diet for their family.

Paired with a spicy jalapeño cucumber relish is mouth watering goodness.

Our thoughts influence our health; this is at the CELLULAR level.

We all have experienced paradigms that may be limiting to us, but we do have a choice to stay there or step out of it.

First step: AWARENESS
- Identify what self-limiting or self-depreciating thoughts play on a loop in your mind.

Next: BELIEF
- Take the start to change that narrative and create new neuronal pathways. Like trees, this new one needs water and sunlight on repeat.

Practice. Small amounts of change each day.

Your body does have the ability to heal. The more we second-guess that or attach to "what's wrong with me" the more likely we are inhibiting that healing potential. Let diagnoses guide you, not become you.

Health is something I always recommend prioritizing, the earlier the better. But the New Year can bring with it motivation that sometimes is missing.

To support you in making it easier to get to your health goals, I'm offering a 10% discount to New Patients that establish care within the month of January. [I am licensed/registered in both North Dakota and Minnesota.]

- Feeling like the "your labs are normal, you're good" doesn't align with how you're feeling?
- Family and friends telling you you look good, but you haven't felt it?
- Wanting to reverse your pre-diabetes? High cholesterol? Weight loss difficulties?
- Feeling generally well but you want to focus on anti-aging support and optimizing wellness or preventing conditions in your family history?
- Making changes to your lifestyle/routine or pushing through the obstacles by means of surviving?

These are some of things I can support you with. I will review testing you've already had done and find the pieces that might be missing to explain what you're feeling.

I believe in educating you and empowering you to better understand what your labs are meaning and help you understand how we get you to a better health. There is so much more to health than what standard screenings can/will catch.

Movement in the winter.

Our bodies have great capacity for being physically active in the winter, especially when we lean into consuming more of the root vegetables that the earth provides for us for this season.

Engage in activities that are warming. Protect the warmth of the body when engaging in activities outside.

Have Fun!!!

Many new patients tell me, "I'm a bizarre case", or "I'm really challenging".

You're not challenging. Circumstances and symptoms are hard to deal with but what I love about my job is that I get to use the "detail-oriented" part of myself to put the puzzle pieces together. Naturopathic Medicine provides us with so many great tools to bring about change within the body.

Here are some things that have been happening in my patient's lives lately. When symptoms occur for a long time you learn to live with it, but it doesnt' mean that that pattern will persist. Sometimes we just have to find the few missing puzzle pieces to get you there.

Sauna season is on and fully enjoying the benefits here.

Clinically, over the years I’ve trialed frequency in individuals in the Midwest in the winter months and those that did 2 sauna sessions/week relative to 1 sauna session had improvements across the board when it was adopted as a lifestyle change. (Individual results and symptom improvements varied by individual).

Eastern medicine theories on energy balance restrict me from recommending for my patients every day so a happy medium is 2-3 times/week though individualization is important.

Benefits?: ➡️➡️

Improved cardiovascular health, stress reduction and improved mental health, muscle and joint pain relief, and enhanced immune function.

Studies suggest infrared saunas are superior for depuration of heavy metals out of the body relative to other methods of sweating. But…start where you’re at with the methods you have.

Work a ?? Salon stylist, work with paint, chemicals, pesticides, etc.? Extra important to support your organs of elimination!!

Schedule your sauna or

Don’t forget to end in a cool rinse for vasoconstriction to retain the internal body heat and balance your nervous system.

Many are new to Naturopathic Medicine and wonder how it's different?

As clinicians, we are trained to understand each layer of involvement with how dysfunction and then disease come about.

We understand that if the foundations of health are not in order, the body will call for more support.

What a treatment plan may look like:
- A component that addresses existing highest-concerning symptoms with symptom-relief focus.
- Starting goals to work towards a long-term clinical nutrition plan that's tailored based on your individual assessments. Eating for your oxidation type is highly important.
- Support through very specific supplements and/or nutraceuticals, homeopathy, custom tinctures that provide aid to your body's ability to improve function of vital organs. (common examples in today's world: liver support, anti-inflammatory support, thyroid support, nervous system balancing support). These components are researched-backed, focused items.

A treatment plan is comprehensive, not a "take this because this is low" mentality. There are components of that yes, but an important part of a naturopathic approach is working to CORRECT underlying issues or disturbances. The longer an issue has been present, often the longer it will take to truly correct.

Gratitude is a practice that adds enrichment to one's life.

It assists with:
-promoting positive emotions and supports limiting the mental energy that is depleting to one's mind.

The practice of gratitude activates the: hippocampus, amygdala and even the pre-frontal cortex. These are involved with decision-making, emotional regulation, empathy and memory.
