Surfers: Do you suffer from painful ear infections? Hearing Loss?
You may have Surfer's Ear.

Surfer's Ear is not the same as Swimmer's Ear. It's actually bone growth in the ear canal as a result of repeated exposure to cold water and wind, which is a common circumstance for surfers.

It won't go away on its own, but the good news is that Dr. Webster is the only surgeon in the Pacific Northwest who has special training and experience in a minimally-invasive technique for removing the bone growth in an outpatient procedure covered by most health insurance. Find out more here:

Surfer's ear is a condition that develops over time when abnormal bone growth occurs in one or both ears after repeated exposure to cold water and wind.

RUNNY NOSE, SNEEZING, COUGH - IS IT A COLD OR ALLERGIES?

We often get calls and questions from patients -- particularly during allergy season -- about how to know whether their runny nose, nasal drainage, congestion, sneezing, and cough are symptoms of a cold or allergies. It's a fair question because the symptoms are similar, but the cause is not. So how do you know?

UNDER-THE-TONGUE ALLERGY DROPS THERAPY: AN ALTERNATIVE TO ALLERGY SHOTS

People with allergies may get used to receiving shots. They may tolerate it – although some can’t or won’t. But nobody really LIKES it. The good news is that shots are NOT always the only option for everyone with allergies. Sublingual Immunology using allergy drops can be a great alternative to shots for many allergy sufferers. And unlike over-the-counter allergy medications that simply mask symptoms, allergy drops address the underlying allergy issues, providing short-term reduction of symptoms and long-term allergy relief.

- Drops don’t hurt (important for everyone but especially children and needle-averse adults)
- Drops can be taken at home, saving the hassle of regular trips to the doctor’s office
- Drops have extremely low risk of allergic reaction

Oregon Coast Allergy & Sinus is the only medical practice on the Oregon Coast to offer Sublingual Immunotherapy with allergy drops. Call 541-808-3860 now or visit us online to learn more about sublingual allergy drops at OregonCoastAllergySinus.com/allergy-drops/

Under-the-Tongue Allergy Drops: An Alternative to Allergy Shots Let’s face it. People with allergies may get used to receiving shots (needle injections). They may tolerate it – although some can’t or won’t. But nobody really LIKES it. For people who suffer from many kinds of allergies, the r...

Anyone who has experienced sinus infections (also known as “sinusitis”) knows how painful, uncomfortable and frustrating it feels. Occasional bouts of sinusitis are bad enough, but chronic, recurring sinus infections are truly a scourge for those who have to endure the pain and misery.

The good news is that there is a minimally invasive in-office procedure that can relieve your pain and swollen sinuses in a single appointment. It’s called “Balloon Sinuplasty” (“SIGN-you-plas-tee”) and it has resulted in consistently positive results for many people. What’s more, most health insurance plans cover most or all of the cost of the procedure!

Dr. Webster has extensive training and experience in effective treatment of chronic sinus pain and infection and he has performed many balloon sinuplasty procedures to provide quick, long-lasting relief from constant sinus pain and headaches.

Some people deal with year-round allergies, but Spring is when most people with allergies suffer the most -- particularly nasal allergies (also known as "allergic rhinitis" or "hay fever"). Sometimes, over-the-counter medications may reduce symptoms, at least a bit. But those medications only mask the problem at best. You don't have to have your Spring ruined every year by nasal allergies.

Learn more about nasal allergies and treatment options here:

All allergies are not the same but they all share one thing in common: making you miserable! At Oregon Coast Allergies & Sinus, we focus primarily on nasal allergies for several reasons.
