Today we shine our spotlight onto Heather Willard, MO-III, LAT, CSCS
Heather graduated from Texas State University in 2000.
She created Strong Medicine in 2004 to be a team of contract ATs who supplement for orgs needing help or wanting to support their staff. Many of our ATs gravitate to us because it allows them to spend time with their families while contributing an essential support. The longest contract she had served has been 7 years at an HBCU where she has gotten to work with international and students of color that share her love for a spectrum of vibrant music, comfort foods, and moving muscles.
Here are the words from a former athlete, now colleague, about how Heather has been an essential member:
“Heather has stepped up and filled a role at Huston-Tillotson, an HBCU, and has made an impact not only on the athletes but the students that work under her. She puts in the hours to make sure that the athletic program at HT is successful. As a female of color, she took me under her wing and influenced me to follow the athletic training career path. Now as a professional athletic trainer myself, she has been an amazing mentor as I make my way through this profession.”
