What a GIFT it is to our health to stop using toxic laundry detergents and stop coating our clothes in toxic chemicals. The chemicals in detergents and softeners sit on our clothes, on our skin and then are absorbed into our bloodstreams. Many of these are endocrine disruptors (mess up our hormones) and some are even carcinogens. But its easy to ditch these chemicals and switch to doTERRA’s abode laundry pods!
Why are doTERRA’s laundry pods different?
• Natural enzymes and surfactants
• Free from phosphates, phthalates, dyes, and chlorine.
• Environmentally friendly
• Abode blend essential oil instead of fragrance
• 45 count bag
• Simple, pure, natural ingredients
Toxins in traditional laundry pods/detergent:
• Surfactants like quaternium-15 (known to release formaldehyde, a known carcinogen), diethanolamine (linked with skin and eye irritation and possibly liver problems), nonlphenol ethoxylate or NPE (toxic to nerves, irritating to skin, potential hormone disruptor, toxic to aquatic life), linear alkyl benzene sulfonates or LAS (irritating to skin and eyes and toxic to aquatic life; benzene on its own is a carcinogen), and petroleum distillates (linked to cancer and lung damage).
• Fragrance - our governments allow over 4,000 chemicals to be labeled as “fragrance”, many of which are banned in other countries.
• Stabilizers such as polyalkylene oxide or ethylene oxide, which are linked with eye and lung irritation, and even dermatitis.
• Brighteners like naphthotriazolystilbenes (linked with developmental and reproductive effects), benzoxazolyl, diaminostilbene disulfonate, and more. Since these remain on the clothes, they are likely to come into contact with skin.
• Phosphates & EDTA
Yikes! We don’t want that! But do natural detergents even work??
We have some TOUGH stains and smells to get out of the laundry at our house with 5 athletes. Everything they say about teens smelling is true! But our doTERRA laundry pods handle it all like a PRO. And I can have peace knowing everything that touches their skin is safe.
