The fear around Psychedelics (psyche-expanding substances) I feel exist due to ignorance and unaligned morality. Ignorance of not knowing the truths of the kind of medicinal value of these medicines. And unaligned morality because despite the myths you’ve heard like “acid will make you jump out of windows”, an authentic ceremonial experience will in fact have the individual re-think their deepest morals and values. Yes, like any medicine there are cautions and side effects. Unlike many other medicines prescribed, Psychedelics, also known as Entheogens which means “God within”. These medicines have been so far proven to have zero addictive properties and in fact break addictive thought patterns. In other words, there is no physiological need or psychological hunger for these catalysts. Thus making these medicines very effective in the treatment in all kinds of addictions such as drug use and even other habitual behaviors like OCDs, depression, and anxiety.
The mission of this page, along with Yoga Shamanics and Holistics Strategies and Events, are to get the community involved in helping society reaching the goal to make these medicines become regulated for creating a true healing pharmacology to our community and society. We would like to fight for strict regulations to maintain the sacredness of the traditions that carry the wisdom of utilizing these catalysts. I believe a special Psychiatrist should be qualified to prescribe this form of healing modality as well as shamans and Native American tribes who are able to prove the depths of their relationship to these catalysts. Some obstacles ahead may be how do we tell who is qualified and who is not? What is the criteria or guidelines for such modalities to take place?
Since these medicines do require a certain type of expertise, it is important to understand a few factors to developing a positive healing environment such as set, setting, and dosage. THESE MEDICINES ARE NOT TO BE PRESCRIBED TO TAKE HOME! It is imperative to keep these medicines under strict supervision by qualified medicine women/men and facilitators to maintain and facilitate the sacred space. My plan for my graduate studies as well as my life-dedication since this is the subject I want to specialize in is to design experiments that can be approved by the IRB (Institutional Review Board) and be funded by the government. This may sound crazy to get funded but the government already funds some groups like MAPS (Multidisciplinary Approach to Psychedelic Studies) who do studies with examinations of Psilocybin to treat obsessive-compulsive disorders, the possible efficacy of M**A to help terminally ill cancer patients prepare for death, and the use of the West African psychedelic Iboga as treatment for drug addiction. They have made a good fight for M**A pushing the classification into phase 3 of regulation for veterns with PTSD. Their work has reached other international countries like Israel following in MAPS footsteps!
I once upon a time, wanted to be funded to work specifically with L*D because i had thought... If we use the original recipe that was created by Albert Hoffman in 1938 then there will not be any skepticism of the medicine being "impure". One of the dangers of trying psychedelics is the fact that you don't know what you truly are getting due to being found in the counter-culture underground. If we pass for legalization of medicinal use then obviously that harm will be omitted due to properly being regulated and "cooked up" in the labs. Another fear of L*D is the fact that it is chemically made. That should not be a fear because there are studies to prove that over-dosing on L*D is impossible like many other plant medicines containing psychedelic-hallucinogenic properties. Factors other than dosage and quality of dosage such as set and setting must be examined to cultivate and hold space for a healing environment. These factors not considered lead the individual to a “bad” trip. A bad trip with deep learning lessons and a painful dismemberment that could all be avoided with proper preparations being made. These “bad” trips are not necessarily bad when properly integrated which is the next step of cultivating a healing trajectory utilizing this healing modality. A great way to think of these medicines are as amplifiers and whatever comes up in ceremony (the way to prepare for a fruitful psychedelic experience) is a reflection of that individuals current path of existence. These medicines will show this reflection of life through different layers of the individual whether through the mind body, physical body, energetic body, wisdom or bliss body. The ceremony can take the individual on a deep journey to the Self by penetrating and focusing on one or two bodies at a time or can pe*****te and focus on them all but with all preparations taken ahead of time a positive healing space will always blossom.
