Here is the basic agenda for the Spruce K**b trip.

Friday May 19th - The Gathering. We will have some libations and laughs🍺😂around the fire 🔥and prepare for the hike to come. We can go over some checklists and make sure everyone is properly outfitted and geared up. I have room for about five people to stay the night, In very comfortable recliners. So please let me know ahead of time if you'll be staying the night. Those of you who are not staying the night or are simply going to meet back up in the morning before we go that's cool too. But be aware I will be departing at 7:00 a.m. It is a 4-Hour drive to the trailhead and we do not want to burn too much daylight so that we can enjoy the trail and have as many stops as we'd like along the way.

Saturday May 20th - Spruce K**b day one. We will depart my house at 7:00 a.m. if you choose to go separately adjust your time accordingly so that you will arrive at the trailhead at 11:00 a.m. It is a 4-Hour drive from my address. We will have a little snack when we arrive at the trailhead parking lot as everyone arrives. We will go over any last minute preparations and questions.
😎Then we will leave civilization and start down the Huckleberry trailhead at 11:30 the Huckleberry trail. At around mile 4.7 we should have been walking over an hour we will see the wreckage of a plane🛩️ from 1973 and after that we will stop for a snack🍪 and a break. As we continue we will stop for little drink breaks here and there but try and keep our pace as continuous as possible. We will go through some beautiful mountain Meadows and finally come to the Horton trail around mile 8 which will then soon lead to our descent into the creek valley where we'll be staying the night. 🏕️ There are lots of beautiful waterfalls and little areas that we could swim in if it is warm enough.🏊‍♀️. They do permit campfires so we can bring things to cook over the fire such as hot dogs or s'mores. It is also recommended to bring camp meals that you add hot water to to complete. Matt and I have cooking equipment but check with us on what you utensils and cooking implements you will need in addition to your food.

May 21st - Spruce K**b day 2 the hike out. Day two will be partly a hike from the canyon valley back up to the ridge that we had walked the day before and then retracing the steps of Huckleberry trail back to the parking lot. Day two will not be as far but it will be considerably more uphill. Where as day one will be approximately 9.7 MI, day two will be approximately 6.8 MI. We will wake up around 9:00 a.m. get some breakfast and coffee then start breaking down camp around 10:00 a.m.. This will allow us to complete our packing and get back on the trail by 11:00 a.m. based on three miles in an hour plus a little added in extra sightseeing time we should get to the parking lot where we started comfortably by 2:00 p.m. there is a sightseeing overlook Tower that the place is known for that will be the finale of the trip and then we can go our separate ways or meet up afterwards at some sort of restaurant that we will devour massive quantities of food 😂🍺🌮🌭🥟🥪🥨🥩

This is my backpacking trip checklist. You don't have to have everything on it but this will give you a good idea of where to start. Ultimately I'm going to put together a list of everything that we do have as a group so we don't end up bringing a lot of redundant equipment.

Access Google Docs with a personal Google account or Google Workspace account (for business use).

Well I don't know if all of the rest of you are as pumped as I am for this trip, I assume you are from what I've been hearing the last few weeks. We are going to have an amazing time and I have a lot of information to share with you. First and foremost this is the agenda for what we are about to accomplish. There are pictures included from the original hikers that took this route and documented it well. This will give you an idea and exact trail routes that you can share with anyone at home to let them know where you'll be.

Easily in the top 5 backpacking routes in the mid-Atlantic. The Spruce K**b/Seneca Creek circuit has beautiful meadows, mountain vistas, waterfalls, and the best camping to be found. Starting at Spruce K**b, the tallest peak in West Virginia, the hike also has a short 1/2 mile circuit at the summit....
