2026-27 FAFSA information sent by my daughter’s college to us today.

🚨 Be aware there are new procedures this year!! 🚨

The 2026-2027 FAFSA is currently open!

If you have already completed the FAFSA for next year, please note that our office will begin processing these applications by early January 2026, as we are still prioritizing 2025-2026 applications. You will receive an email notification once your FAFSA is in process and Net Partner is open for the upcoming academic year.



There have been a few changes made to the application for this year. Please note the following:

To avoid issues with your application, the FAFSA must be initiated by the student (not the parent or spouse). Go to studentaid.gov to start a new FAFSA for 26-27.
Adding Contributors has been simplified! The student will only provide an email address to add their contributors. All other personal information will be entered by the contributor once they access the FAFSA. Each contributor must have a unique email address which is associated with their FSA account.


Please be advised of the following important dates for 2026-2027:

January 2026 – Net Partner will be open for the new academic year. You will begin by completing your 26-27 Financial Aid Data Form for priority packaging.
April 15, 2026 – Priority Deadline to receive your FAFSA and other required documents for packaging of 2026-2027 Award Offers.
June 30, 2026 – Last day to submit or make changes to any FAFSA applications for the 2025-2026 current academic year.
July 15, 2026 – Louisiana Tech University deadline for a 2026-2027 complete file (FAFSA received, and all required documents submitted in Net Partner) to ensure aid will be available before the start of the Fall Quarter 2026.


The 2026-2027 FAFSA will remain open until June 30, 2027. Complete it early to avoid delays in receiving your aid. If you need assistance completing your FAFSA, please contact our office. Our counselors will be happy to assist you with any questions you may have. For issues with the application, contact the Federal Student Aid Information Center (FSAIC) at 1-800-433-3243.

It’s that time start thinking about December ACT prep!

This is a great test for juniors to take after completing a semester of an advanced math to test their strengths and to see where they are so they can get very targeted prep to nail down their final score in the spring and/or by the end of summer. You do NOT want to WAIT too long or you put your student into a stressful corner—especially if they are looking at early decision, early admissions in the fall.

Check out just some of my results and feedback from students and families.

I have two seniors who discovered they were admitted into their top schools, which leaves a few extra slots open on my December list.

Small increases and big increases (and even some flat scores) on this new ACT.

One thing is for certain: this new test is making kids WORK for those scores unlike previous old versions. The scoring tables are clearly less favorable in especially English. No longer can kids miss 4-5 and get a 34. Not happening.

Math— want a 25? Cannot miss more 16.

Fewer questions and less time mean kids need to have a more secure and deeper understanding of math and English. They need faster recall and understanding of how to answer the questions they are given.

Be ready to work and to study. This is a new time. Be certain to get prep from a qualified professional who spends dedicated time each week to this new exam and how to improve prep as well.

Prep is an investment for all in time, money, and more. Be ready to make the most out of it.

Open Enrollment for the BOOK IT!®School Program is now open (read all and see information below). If you pre-enrolled, please be on the lookout for an email from us with instructions on how to sign in and get started (Homeschool Teachers uses the App for the program). Very important!! We have created a Website User Guide (click on the menu icon next to sign in on top right corner of website), that is available on our website, it is important to read the guide as well as our FAQs prior to contacting us for support. If the answer to the issue is found in the user guide and/or FAQs, we will direct you to them for support. Program will officially begin on October 1st 🥳

September 2025–
A few happy families. Still waiting for more to report in scores. Listen. This new ACT is making your kids WORK for these scores, now.

There is no magical formula.
There are no instant tips and fast-no-effort tricks.

It’s called WORK. Studying. Putting in the EFFORT. Conducting TIMED practice tests.

I’m not sugar coating this.

Little input does not bring maximum results.
Not in sports.
Not in music.
Not in cheer or dance.
Not in work.
And not in test prep.

Doing a practice test does not guarantee high scores. Looking over the strategies does not bring instant scores.

It’s work. It’s studying. It’s consistent and active practice and review.

The October ACT will be the first released test since February—and in the new official format. Your student will want this test/key, especially if they are getting prep or looking to learn from it in a self-study.
