Does it ever seem like just when you seem to get things together a bit, something inevitably happens and throws you off track?
I used to get frustrated by this, but I realized that you have the endure the rain if you want to reap the harvest. I know, much easier said than done. Because I’m the queen of excuses...too little time, too tired, etc.
But this morning I read Prov 13:4, which reads: “The slacker craves, yet has nothing, but the diligent is fully satisfied.
Umm...ouch. But hey, the truth hurts. Because I find a million reasons to avoid the work and the effort that goes into it. Newsflash - I’m being a slacker!!!
Not on purpose of course, but if I keep dodging what needs to be done, I will always crave what I’m not diligent enough to work for - whether that be successful businesses, a clean house, or a strong marriage.
But, if I’m diligent, consistent, and obedient with the work God has called me to do, I will find myself content and satisfied in Him, versus feeling frazzled and overwhelmed.
What a great reminder to be slow and steady and consistent. Because only then can He use my obedience and effort to glorify His kingdom.
So basically...DO THE WORK!! Let’s share tips! What’s your biggest barrier to productivity and how do you overcome them?
