The reason I have compiled this information is simple! We are grandparents, not the parents! As a professional librarian and researcher, trying to find information on twins, preemies, NICU and medical terminology for grandparent knowledge was difficult. So many questions rush through my mind: What will our role be? How do you childproof your home? How will I feel? Let's celebrate! Various sites that my daughter was using (The Bump, Baby Central and others) were all focused on Moms and had excellent information for the mother, but was too confusing or too detailed for what we as grandparents need. You often had to register to get into the site and then "give a due date" for the birth. This made me laugh! I wanted a simple site where anyone could go for basic information written from the a grandparent's perspective. So the birth of this page, Grandparenting Essentials!
