When we’re in rhythm with nature, we learn this:
loud isn’t wrong—and silence isn’t empty.
The pause is where wisdom speaks.

Most people are still carrying stones from years ago.

Grief doesn’t always look dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like functioning.
Smiling.
Showing up.
While something heavy lives quietly in your chest.

There’s an Indigenous ritual where people would gather stones for their pain.
Each stone held a memory.
A moment.
A wound.

They would carry them to water.
Speak the memory out loud.
Release the stones one by one.

And keep one.

Not to hold onto grief.
But to witness that it mattered.

I love that.

Because grief doesn’t need to be erased.
It needs to be honored.

Sometimes healing isn’t talking it to death.
Sometimes it’s letting your body release what it’s been holding.

If something feels heavy lately…
Maybe it just wants to be witnessed.

Follow for grounded leadership, boundaries, and embodied healing.

Dobbs Oxendine Jr., age 87, passed away on February 11, 2026. He completed his earthly journey and is now resting in eternal peace.

Known to many simply as Dobbs, he lived life on his own terms. He was steady, independent, and deeply rooted in his values. He was the founder and owner of Dobbs Enterprise. He was a respected pillar in the drag racing community. Dobbs also served in tribal leadership, where he was respected for his presence, influence, and commitment to the community.

Dobbs was preceded in death by his father, Dobbs Oxendine Sr.; his mother, Prebble Marie Oxendine; and his son, Tim Oxendine.

Bobbie Oxendine; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving sister, Bobbie Ann Sampson (Steve).

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Anita, his longtime companion; to Destiny Lowry, his hospice nurse, for her care and presence; and to Ray Lowry, for his devoted friendship and steady

support.

This is from Wes (not Kimberly). I’ve been known to hijack my wife’s account from time to time.

By now, you all know that Mr. Dobbs has passed on from here. Grief and loss are settling in. Mr. Dobbs was well known for building a business. He and his family did this at a time when it wasn’t easy for a Native man to do so. That same entrepreneurial spirit is alive in Kimberly Owen. She’s built a mental health and coaching practice here in the Charlotte and Lake Norman community. Mr. Dobbs had his own unique perspectives and philosophies. Kimberly was rocking a shirt last week that read “WEIRDO” (proudly rocking it, I might add). They’re both comfortable in their own skin. They both set out on their own to find the right path. Mr. Dobbs left home worked in the DC area before coming back to start a business. Kimberly left home and lived all over NC. She’s settled here in Charlotte for nearly 30 years. They share a HIGH sensitivity to inauthenticity. Even when most thought Mr. Dobbs wasn’t aware or listening, he would share an “eye roll” with Kimberly! They share a love of fashionable, wide-brimmed hats. There’s a stack of about 10 in our closet!
So yes, Mr. Dobbs isn’t “here” with us anymore. But make no mistake, that entrepreneurial spirit, independent-thinking, “go against the grain”, fun-loving, rule-breaking, black sheep, one of a kind, beautiful outlaw spirit is alive and well in Kimberly.

Over-explaining isn’t clarity.
It’s often a search for safety.

Secure leadership doesn’t perform.
It stands.

Boundaries aren’t walls — they’re instructions.

Trauma doesn’t erase us — it fragments us.

Healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken.
It’s about reclaiming what was left behind.

You don’t have to rush this.
Presence is enough to begin.

When it snows, everything gets quiet.
And for a moment, the world slows down.

What if some seasons of your life are asking for the same?

Not more pushing.
Not more proving.
Just presence.

Quiet doesn’t mean stuck.
Quiet means listening.

If you’re learning how to slow down, reconnect, and lead yourself with compassion — you’re in the right place.

I get asked this a lot. What is the difference between a therapist and a coach? Which one do I need? The answer is, you may need both! Both play different roles in the healing journey. That is why, after years of being a licensed trauma therapist, I also became a certified Coach. They are both so valuable and complement one another. Where one tool leaves off, the other picks up. Healing is mind, body, and spirit. That's what The Medicine Wheel Method™ is about.
