War Heroes on Water WHOW is an annual healing and therapeutic sportfishing tournament serving combat wounded veterans.

WHOW operates under the guidance of Freedom Alliance, an IRS-registered 501c3 charity. All funds raised are for the benefit of Freedom Alliance’s programs. All funds raised by the tournament are for the benefit of Freedom Alliance’s programs and services. The distribution of any raised proceeds is done at the discretion of Freedom Alliance.

The PCS Show is next week – join us! War Heroes on Water Tournament Director Rod Halperin, local WHOW Veterans, and the Freedom Alliance team will be at the show all weekend long. Come say hello, learn more about WHOW and the Veterans it supports, and pick up some raffle tickets for a chance to win some amazing prize packages. Together with the Pacific Coast Sportfishing Show, WHOW is proud to announce the FOURTH annual PCS Show Vendor Social in support of the 2026 Tournament. All PCS Show exhibitors are invited to join us after the show on Friday, March 6 at 7:30 pm.



This party gets bigger and better every year, and this year we have a special announcement: all PCS exhibitors are welcome as our guests! No cover charge, no need to get tickets in advance. Just come to the Courtyard on Friday night after the show closes, show us your vendor credentials, and get ready to have a great time for a great cause. You’ll have to chance to hear from some of the veterans this tournament supports while enjoying live music, appetizers, drinks on us!



And for all of the WHOW supporters who are attending the PCS Show as patrons and shoppers, be sure to stop by our WHOW booth where you can purchase tickets for our 2026 raffle! Featuring incredible gear, apparel, trips and more – all donated by generous PCS exihibitors! – the raffle is a wonderful way to show your support with the chance to win some amazing prizes. All proceeds from the event support the 2026 WHOW Tournament and the therapeutic services it provides for combat-wounded Veterans through its charitable partner, Freedom Alliance.

We had so much fun celebrating with our Vets on Catalina’s iconic Green Pier last night. Locals joined the WHOW family as teams weighed their catches and shared stories from an unforgettable weekend on the water.

We’ll find out the big winners tonight at the Awards Ceremony, as our Veterans reunite with their captains and crews to reflect on the tournament and the bonds they forged at sea.

What an incredible day filled with smiles, handshakes and hugs. We kicked off the tournament by celebrating our Veterans with a proper heroes’ send-off. They’re now out at sea with SoCal’s top anglers for two days of fishing - can’t wait to see what they reel in!
