Balancing life as a surgeon, mom, and practice owner means protecting the moments that refill my cup, too ✨

🤍 Women who empower women
📚 Book club conversations that spark new ideas
⛷️ Ski days that push me outside my comfort zone
🧖♀️ Sauna resets that bring me back to center

These aren’t “extras.” They’re part of how I stay grounded, focused, and fully present—in the OR, in my business, and at home.

Taking care of myself isn’t selfish. It’s essential. Because the best version of me is what I bring to everyone and everything I love. 💫

Gratitude hits differently when it comes from a fellow surgeon. 🙏

A recent refractive lens exchange patient—also a surgeon—shared a handwritten note and thoughtful gifts after their procedure. Moments like this reflect the highest level of trust: a surgeon choosing a surgeon.

There’s something especially meaningful about caring for someone who truly understands the precision, trust, and responsibility behind what we do every day.

Honored to care for colleagues who understand exactly what’s at stake—and what it takes to deliver exceptional outcomes.

🚨 Eye Drop Recall — Read This 🚨

As a cornea and dry eye specialist, I want to highlight a California company, recalled 3.1 million bottles of generic over-the-counter dry eye relief and artificial tears sold at Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, due to sterility concern.

👁️ Higher risk:
• Contact lens wearers
• Immunocompromised patients

Using contaminated eye drops = serious corneal infection risk.
(Last major recall in 2023 14 people lost vision and 4 people died)

⚠️ What to do:
• Stop using possibly affected generics
• Watch for redness, pain, discharge, blurry vision

💧 My recommendation:
Stick with brand-name drops (Refresh, Systane, Blink, Retaine). Don’t take chances with your eyes.

Consider drop less dry eye treatment options, such as Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

That stye just won’t quit? 🚫
It might be time to level up your treatment.
Eye surgeons can offer:
• IPL to reduce inflammation
• Steroid injections to shrink it fast
• Excision procedure for lasting relief

Because “just deal with it” isn’t a plan.

How I keep my cup full ☕️
Not perfectly but intentionally.

👩⚕️ Show up for my patients
👩👧 Show up for my family
✨ Show up for myself
Because you can’t pour from empty… and burnout helps no one.

We received a surprise package from a patient and had to capture the moment!
It’s gestures like these that remind us how meaningful our work is.
Watch our team’s reaction—we think you’ll smile too 😊

That stubborn stye won’t go away? Here’s what eye surgeons actually do 👇

If warm compresses aren’t cutting it, it’s time to level up treatment:

✨ 1. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)
Reduces inflammation + helps unclog those blocked oil glands

💉 2. Steroid injection
Breaks down that hard, lingering bump (especially if it’s turned into a chalazion)

🔬 3. Excision & drainage
A quick in-office procedure to remove pus + scar tissue

🚨 Bottom line:
Not all “styes” are the same and some need more than home remedies.

If it’s been weeks… keeps coming back… or just won’t budge 👉 get it checked.

Got a stye? Do THIS before it gets worse 👇

🔥 Your 3-day game plan:

• Apply a warm/hot compress (8–10 min, 4x/day)
👉 This helps unclog the gland + speed up healing

• Do lid scrubs 1–2x/day
👉 Keep the area clean and bacteria-free

• 🚫 Don’t squeeze or pop it
👉 This can make it worse (and spread infection)

⏳ Give it 3 days…

🚨 If it’s getting more painful, more swollen, or not improving → get it checked ASAP.

Your eyes will thank you 👁️✨

Red, swollen, painful eyelid? Don’t ignore this…
It might be a stye 👇

A stye is a small infection in the oil glands along your eyelid—and it can show up as:

🔴 Redness
😣 Swelling
👉 Tenderness or pain
👁️ A bump that looks like a pimple

🦠 Why it happens:
• Bacteria buildup on the eyelid
• Overgrowth of tiny mites (yes… really 😳)
• Clogged oil glands
• Old or contaminated makeup

⚠️ It may look small, but it can get worse if you ignore it.

Catch it early. Treat it right. Protect your eyes 👁️✨

Spring is beautiful… but your eyes might disagree

If your eyes are watery, irritated, or constantly red, you might be dealing with allergic

conjunctivitis (eye allergies).

Here’s what actually helps

- Skip relying on oral allergy meds like Claritin or Benadryl

They can dry your eyes out and don’t directly treat eye allergies

Use allergy eye drops like Pataday or Lastacaft

They work right where the problem is

- Add preservative-free artificial tears

They help flush out allergens and soothe irritation

-That “sinus congestion” feeling”?

It might actually be excess tears draining into your sinuses
