UPDATE ON DR TRAVIS STICKLE
Travis had an issue once again on Wednesday evening, which landed him in the ER at Alleghany, then at 4:30AM Thursday morning he was transferred to Lewis Gale ER in Salem, Va. He stayed in the ER till Thursday evening around 7, where they put him in a regular room. He was transferred to VCU in Richmond on Friday morning at 6:30AM. Once there, they scheduled a CT scan. What I am about to type came directly from Travis.
A vascular doctor just came through and said they are waiting on the CT scan to make any assumptions. He said that if it is the stent they need to make” darn sure because the procedure to repair that has a high morbid rate”. Uh….Great day to start the day.
So now….we wait for results…
This came from Travis
Good morning everyone. I’m in VCU as they try to determine the source of my recent episodes of bleeding. I had a CT scan this morning, and hope that it provides the doctors with the insight that we need. I’m praying that the stent which was implanted last year is intact and not causing any erosion of the aorta. I pray they find the source of bleeding and we are able to resolve it quickly and easily. It’s a miracle that I survived last year’s crisis and I’m confident that God has a plan for me and this is just another part. I appreciate all the love and prayers.
CT Scan results …..Sunday morning, May 25th
The vascular surgeon came through this morning. They have clear pictures of the stent repair and were able to rule it out as an issue. There is a clear separation between the aorta and the lung. Amen!! They are going to do further investigation into other vascular possibilities. I suggested GI, and he agreed.
I know this was a long post, but wanted everyone to know what has been going on…..it is the holiday weekend, so……we are sure nothing will be done till Tuesday. Once again we appreciate all the calls, text and prayers. Please keep Travis in your prayers. I will give another update when we know more.
