My weekly update!! I’m 19 weeks out from my surgery TODAY!!! 💜🎉🙏🏼

I’m 18 weeks out today,. Had my clinic visit and vascular scan today. I still have blood clots, so staying on Eliquis, tacro is low so upping the dose, and may feel awful this week. A biopsy awaits me at about 6+ months, BUT for now, the best news is my next clinic appt isn’t until October 6th!! The longest time since my transplant.

TODAY!!! I had a life saving transplant 4 months ago!

I am here because someone made the choice to donate their organs after they were no longer on this planet. I implore each and everyone who can, please sign up to be an organ donor. I now wouldn’t be here, twice, without someone choosing to donate.

So I’m giving everyone the update: my kidney hasn’t been “normal” one day since the transplant surgery. I’ll be 4 months this Friday. My kidney is Tacro sensitive. That’s one of the anti rejection meds, it’s got me sick, it sucks, headaches, brain fog and shakes. I have to wait til I can get off the blood thinners, the scan for that is in a week, then I’ll have a biopsy, and if nothing comes from that, I’ll get put on an anti rejection infusion once a month that will take the place of Tacro and lower my creatinine over time. But the waiting is awful. It probably won’t be til the 2nd week in September for the biopsy. Please continue to keep me in your thoughts. Hope everyone has a lovely week.
