Alakkawa Kennels of Georgia Alakkawa Kennels is located in GA - 35 miles S/E of Atlanta. We are a small Alaskan Klee Kai hobby breeding business.

My husband and I breed with several goals in mind; produce Alaskan Klee Kai that are an improvement of the breed regarding health, temperament, quality, and an improvement of their parents. We screen applicants with an intense questionnaire so we will know for certain the potential adopted families will give the same quality care we have given the puppy's from the time they were born.

This litter is amazing! They actually put themselves to bed last night just as they do most every night.

They are so smart and so active. They are learning to go on the puppy pads, they love to sit in laps, and are slowly weaning off momma. They are learning the word, "No," and they love to chase each other and do the stand off game. They make huge messes with their puppy food and that little Anthony will come to me when I call him. The rest of them will come too, but they take their time. :-)

I don't know what I would have done without the help from my awesomely sweet neighbor Donna Lindsey. We both walk like we are in our 90's and we are quite a sight chasing pups around the room when we can barely get up, but we do it. Thank you, Donna - for all you've done.

Pray for her pet, Ms. Molly. She is blind and diabetic.

UNETHICAL BREEDERS

One thing a person should always remember is to ALWAYS CONDUCT RESEARCH ON THE BREEDER YOU ARE SEEKING TO ADOPT AN AKK FROM!

Please never be afraid to ask questions about the breeders set-up.

For example: Was the AKK raised in a kennel run or inside the house with the breeders? Can I see the registration paper of the parents before I adopt? Has the AKK been DNA tested if there are multiple male breeds or just multiple breeds residing with the breeders?

Please know there are at least 5 breeders that the breeders at Alakkawa Kennels are aware of who are either unethical breeders or have scammed people in search of a purebred AKK. The unethical breeders/scammers have done one or more of the following:

1. Allowed a family to adopt an AKK from them and NEVER release the puppy registration paper to the family - even after 5 years of asking, pleading and begging.

2. Allowed a family to adopt an AKK where the parents of the litter were not even registered and therefore, the breeder states, Oh I cannot find the paperwork, or my sister will not release the papers to me because I owe her money.

3. Cross breeding an AKK with a different breed of dog altogether, yet placing an ad for the dog on their own website that the canine is a purebred AKK and further asking top dollar for the mixed AKK.

4. Falsifying registration papers to get a litter registered.

5. Not DNA testing their pups even though they have well over 2 studs on their premises.

PLEASE! Do YOUR research on an AKK breeder.
