As tropical storm Debby (soon to be hurricane) approaches here are some tips for breastfeeding/pumping and milk storage during this time:

1. Prioritize Safety: Your safety and your baby's come first. Follow evacuation orders if necessary.

2. Keep Breastfeeding: Breast milk is always available and safe. Continue nursing to comfort and nourish your baby.

3. Pumping: If you exclusively pump continue to do so. If your pump is battery-powered be sure that your batteries are fully charged and have backup batteries if possible. Having a manual pump handy can be helpful as a backup to an electric pump in a power outage. Hand expression can be your best friend!

4. Hydrate and Nourish: Stay hydrated and well-fed to support your milk production.

5. Store Milk Safely: See the tips below for milk storage during a power outage. Freshly pumped milk can also be stored using a cooler with ice packs to keep it chilled. Limit opening the cooler to maintain temperature.

Tonight will be the last support group at Bryker Body Care. They are expanding their services and need the space that we currently use for the group. I am really happy for them and all of the great things to come❤️.
