My little indoor garden for winter...and I'm getting ready to start some seeds for spring planting. Getting used to this mountain high desert climate has been a learning curve. But I'm taking it one year at a time. This is my 3rd year anniversary here, and only my 2nd year of planting a garden. But each year is an opportunity to improve upon the mistakes and try new ideas!! My biggest goal when gardening is always to improve the soil, and to conserve water. So the journey continues with permaculture techniques and building earth swales to help retain the water on the land rather than it running off and causing erosion of the sand. Building fencing to keep the deer π¦ out of my vegetables... planting some fruit trees, and hopefully getting some hardy lavender varieties planted in my meditation garden!! There's a lot to do, and I probably won't get it all done, but such is life, one step and one day at a time!! The trick is to have goals, but also to appreciate the present moment, without losing hope when things aren't progressing as quickly as you want them too. I have never been a patient person, but I'm learning.
