If your meditation feels the same…
you may be ready for the next layer.

Depth doesn’t come from repetition alone.

Many people establish a consistent practice and assume that’s where the work ends. But meditation isn’t static—it evolves as your understanding evolves.

At a certain point, it’s not about meditating more.
It’s about refining how you relate to the experience.

Advanced Vedic Meditation isn’t a new technique. It’s a deeper understanding of what’s already happening beneath the surface of your practice—why some meditations feel effortless, why others don’t, and how to move with that instead of against it.

For many, this is where meditation becomes more consistent, more natural, and ultimately, more transformative.

If you’ve been practicing for a while and feel like you’ve plateaued, it may not be a lack of discipline.

It may simply be time for the next layer.

One of the most common questions I hear is:

How is Vedic Meditation different from other types of meditation?

There are many wonderful forms of meditation—breathwork, mindfulness, visualization—and each can be valuable. But for many people, they can also feel like more effort… more focus… more “doing” in an already busy mind.

Vedic Meditation takes a different approach.

Instead of trying to control the mind, it works with it—using a simple, personalized mantra that allows the mind to settle naturally into deeper levels of rest and awareness.

That shift—from effort to effortlessness—is often where everything begins to change.

Consider this my personal invitation to step out of your daily demands and give your nervous system space to reset.

Join us this December (10–14) for a Costa Rican meditation retreat. We’ll be staying in a beautiful ecological retreat space in Playa Pelada, Nosara, where simplicity and luxury meet the natural rhythm of the jungle. A short walk through lush greenery leads to the ocean. Days are supported by fresh, nourishing meals, open air, and an environment designed for deep rest and restoration.

Calmer teams don’t just feel better.
They work better.

There’s less tension in conversations. More space between stimulus and response. A noticeable shift in how people listen, collaborate, and lead.

Over time, that subtle change in state reshapes the entire culture—quietly, but meaningfully.

And from a business perspective, that often shows up as clearer decision-making, stronger retention, and more consistent, sustainable performance.

...it’s not over yet.

Let’s be honest—some chapters feel impossible. The kind where nothing makes sense, nothing feels good, and the best you can do is get through the day. It’s in those moments that the nervous system locks down. It stops adapting, stops recalibrating. It simply braces. And when you’ve been in that state long enough, you start to believe the lie that this is just how it’s going to be from now on.

But it’s not. That’s not the end of the story. That’s not even the middle. That’s the signal: keep going.

Here's the secret to (finally) escaping fight or flight and regulating the nervous system: https://megreynolds.com/blog/its-not-over-yet/

Why Meditation Apps (Usually) Don’t Work

Even with more than 2,500 new relaxation and meditation apps released since 2015, research shows these digital tools often fall short. The main issue: using an app means you’re teaching yourself to meditate, without personal guidance.

Data from the National Institute of Health shows user engagement with meditation apps drops dramatically within the first week of download (Baumel et al., 2019).

Stress Is rising — and our practices matter more than ever.

As stress-related illness becomes increasingly common, the most powerful tools may be the ones that help us release overload before it becomes breakdown.

You don’t need to wait until you’re falling apart to begin.

For many people of faith, meditation can feel confusing or even off-limits.

But when you slow down and look closely, Scripture has a lot to say about stillness, reflection, and the “meditation of the heart.”

I wrote this article to explore that connection — and to look more closely at what the Bible actually says about meditation.
