The Bible says that God is near to the brokenhearted. Our hearts stand with our community as we mourn the loss of these two young men. Praying for their families during this season of brokenness 🙏. Psalm 34:18

As we enter a new year, we’re reminded that healing is a journey — and you don’t have to walk it alone. Each step forward, no matter how small, matters.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” Psalm 34:18

The holiday season often stirs a mix of emotions, ranging from joy to sadness. While festive music and films can spark fond memories, they may also trigger feelings of loss, especially in the absence of a loved one. Our subconscious can react to past experiences, both positive and negative, influencing our current emotional state. It's crucial to recognize that we have the power to choose how we respond to these feelings. If you find yourself overwhelmed by negativity, try grounding yourself in the present. Engaging in activities that bring you joy—like taking a soothing bath, going for a walk, or reaching out to a supportive friend—can help alleviate those heavy emotions. You've got this. Merry Christmas!

🙏 Faith Check-In:
How is your heart today? No matter what you’re carrying, remember God sees you, knows you, and cares deeply about you. Take a moment to pray, breathe, and rest in His presence. You are not alone—His grace is sufficient for today. 💛✨

✨ Monday Check-In ✨
The holidays can bring joy, connection, stress, and everything in between — so today, we just want to check in with you💜

As we step back into our routines, remember:
🌿 It’s okay if you’re moving a little slower
🌿 It’s okay if you’re still catching your breath
🌿 It’s okay if today feels heavier than usual

Take a moment and ask yourself:
How am I really feeling today?
What do I need — rest, support, grounding, or a reset?

Here at The Dwelling Place Counseling Center, we’re easing back in too, and we’re wishing you a gentle start to your week. One small step at a time. 💜🏡

Drop a 💜 or a 🌱 if you’re giving yourself grace today.

There has been a noticeable increase in my therapy sessions with men facing challenges in their marriages, particularly related to po*******hy use. This trend has inspired me to establish a support group aimed at helping men address their addiction and foster a sense of community during their healing process. It's important to recognize that we often carry the weight of our deepest secrets, and if you or someone you know is seeking support, I encourage you to reach out to our office. Many men experience a need for sexual connection to feel loved, and if you're struggling with feelings of rejection in your marriage and are turning to po*******hy as a substitute, there is assistance available. Please don't hesitate to call us at 352-697-4147.

🧡 Thanksgiving Reminder from DPCC 🧡
As we head into the holiday season, many people feel pressure to be joyful, social, and “put together.” But the truth is — this time of year can be stressful, emotional, and overwhelming for many.

If you're feeling the weight of expectations, family dynamics, or the pace of the season, please remember:
Take a moment today to check in with yourself.
Eat if you’re hungry, rest if you’re tired, pause if you need space.
Your emotional well-being matters — today and every day.

From all of us at DPCC, we’re wishing you warmth, safety, and moments of true peace this Thanksgiving. 🧡
