🌟 SHARE! Spotlight: "I like to think that if my dad walks in somewhere, somebody like me will give him the same love and decency ." - Dyamond, SHARE! Peer Specialist

For Dyamond, the work we do at SHARE! isn't just professional, t’s deeply personal.

When Dyamond helps those walking through our doors, she isn't just providing resources; she’s leading with a level of love and decency fueled by her own heart. She shares openly about her father, who is currently navigating addiction and living on the streets.

By treating every person who comes into SHARE! with the dignity they deserve, Dyamond holds onto a powerful hope: that somewhere out there, someone is showing her father that very same kindness.

It is this cycle of empathy and peer support that defines our community. We show up for each other, knowing that a little bit of humanity can be the bridge to a new beginning.

Check out the video to hear more of Dyamond’s incredible story and keep an eye out for the series of videos following in the coming weeks!

💚 May is , and it's all about breaking the silence, smashing the stigma, and reminding everyone that mental health is health. This year, we’re leaning into the power of community with themes like "In Every Story, There’s Strength."

✨ Check out these ways you can get involved and help spread awareness:

Share Your Story: Use or to let others know they aren’t alone.

Growing Stronger Together at the Wisdom & Wellness: Earth Day 2026 Event! 🌎 🌱🪴

What an incredible afternoon of connection and creativity! A huge thank you to our vibrant 65+ community for joining us at SHARE! Culver City to celebrate Earth Day. Together, we honored the planet and nourished our spirits!

We shared a delicious, nutritious lunch and spent the day getting our hands in the dirt (and the paint!). 🎨🌻

We loved seeing everyone’s creativity bloom through our hands-on workshops:

- Garden Rock Painting: Leaving colorful marks of inspiration.

- Terracotta Pot Painting: Crafting beautiful new homes for future greenery.

- Planting Seeds: Sending everyone home with the start of something beautiful.

- Micro-Greens Workshop: Learning the secrets to growing superfoods right in the kitchen!

Beyond the gardening, we focused on inner growth. During our "Tree of Life" exercise, we introduced Community Resiliency Model (CRM) skills. These simple, effective tools help us stay grounded and navigate life’s seasons with confidence and ease.

SHARE!’s United Mental Health Promoters (UMHP) team hosted the event, in proud partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.

Want to join us for the next gathering? Visit shareselfhelp.org/umhp or tap the link in our bio to learn more about our UMHP team and upcoming events!

A huge THANK YOU to Bright Start Nutrition Network for coming out to teach us how to grow microgreens and learn about nutrition! Also, we love seeing our friends from the .senior.center!

🌟 SHARE! Employee Spotlight: Caitlin Mendibles, Peer Support Specialist at SHARE! Downtown Los Angeles🌟

“Ever since I started working at SHARE! and supporting other people, I have not had a relapse with substance use or mental health. I’ve actually been able to stay off my mental health medication for a few years now.” - Caitlin

Through the program, Caitlin used her lived experience to launch a career as a Peer Support Specialist. Today, she provides hope and guidance to others navigating their own recovery journeys.

In Her Own Words:

“I was in a step-down mental health program... I had a whole Full Service Partnership (FSP) team working with me, [but] I was in this cycle of relapse... and I just felt like I couldn’t get out of it.”

“SHARE!’s Peer Personnel Training has given me a new start… It gave me a reason to get up every day.”
