Culver City Chamber of Commerce Announces Dan O’Brien as New President and CEO

(Culver City, Calif.) – The Culver City Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that its board has unanimously appointed Culver City Councilman and Chamber member Dan O’Brien as the organization’s new President and CEO, effective immediately.

“Dan brings a rare blend of creative leadership, public service, and deep community roots to the role,” said outgoing CEO Ed Wolkowitz. “A longtime advocate for Culver City, Dan is in his fourth year on the Culver City Council and served as Mayor in 2025, where he earned a reputation for collaborative leadership and a clear-eyed focus on the city’s economic and civic well-being.”

A graduate of the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in Business Communication and Management, O’Brien also brings a 30-year career as a TV and film creative. He has edited more than a dozen feature films and documentaries, along with hundreds of commercials and television promos, giving him extensive experience in storytelling, branding, advertising, and marketing. This background uniquely positions him to strengthen the Chamber’s goals of networking, advocacy, resources, and marketing opportunities – serving as a bridge between businesses, government, and the public to foster a thriving, positive business environment.

“I am excited to start this new chapter of my career that blends my deep knowledge and roots in the Culver City community with my commitment to improving our city’s business climate and making Culver City an incredible place, to live, work and shop,” O’Brien said.”

O’Brien’s commitment to Culver City spans decades. He has served as a trustee of the Culver City Education Foundation, was a member of the city’s first Committee on Homelessness, was Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 108, and played a key role in founding and serving Feed Culver, a nonprofit created during the pandemic to support food-insecure residents while sustaining local mom-and-pop restaurants through the purchase of prepared meals. His proven leadership, creative expertise, and dedication to community make him a strong guide for the Chamber’s mission to support local businesses and the overall economic health of Culver City.

“We are confident that, under Dan’s leadership, the Chamber will continue to foster growth and connectivity within our community,” said Board Chair Andy Weissman. “Dan’s experience will be essential as we continue to work together to make Culver City the best it can be.”
