Jozelle Smith Trailblazer Award – Denise Ambrosi

The Jozelle Smith Trailblazer Award honors the life and legacy of Jozelle Smith, a true Culver City original whose warmth, wit, and civic spirit helped shape our community. Born and raised here, Jozelle served on the Culver City Council from 1986–1994, including a term as Mayor (1989–1990) — one of the few women to hold that position at the time. Jozelle was also a dedicated Chamber of Commerce member and tireless advocate for local engagement, creativity, and connection.

This year, we proudly recognize Denise Ambrosi, Founder of These Hands Maker’s Collective, as the 2025 Jozelle Smith Trailblazer Award recipient.
