A School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is a group of parents and community members, appointed by the school board to serve at the district level. Members of the SHAC come from different areas of the community and from within the school district.

Cumby Trojans SHAC – Kindness Closet Roundup! 💙🤍

This year we are changing things up instead of a typical Coat Drive we are doing a Kindness Closet Roundup! We are still in need of COATS and SOCKS (yep socks they are the most used item)along with so many more essentials. We are hoping to stock the shelves in the Kindness Closets located at the Cumby High School and getting one added to the Cumby Middle School! These closets provide students with everyday essentials completely FREE of charge.

✨ Items Needed:
🪥 Toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine products (pads & tampons)
💇 Hairbrushes, combs, hair ties, hairspray
✏️ Pencils, pens, poster boards, colored paper, scissors, glue sticks
🎨 Paint & paint brushes (students go through LOTS of these!)
🧦 Socks (wet socks on rainy days = miserable students)
👕 New or gently used T-shirts, athletic shorts, sweatpants (dress code backup)
🩹 Bandaids, lint rollers, sewing kits
🧴 Travel-size shampoo, soaps, deodorant
☔ Small umbrellas, gloves, winter hats
💧 Bottled water (always needed!)

Every donation makes a difference for a student in need. 💖

📍 Drop-off Locations:
Any Cumby ISD campus office or the school nurse’s office

We’re cooking up something special! 🔥 The Cumby Collegiate Community Connection Cooking Class is in the works — a fun, hands-on program for ALL ages! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

We’re currently in the planning phase and are gathering kitchen supply donations and looking for local sponsors to help bring this amazing project to life by the new school year!

Calling All Sweet Tooths and Super Bakers!

Get ready to sugarcoat your Saturday! The Cumby Student Health Advisory Committee “SHAC” is hosting a Bake Sale and we need YOUR help to make it a sweet success!

When: Saturday, May 10th
Time: Starting at 10:00 AM
Where: Cumby Park/Blackjack Grove Day

We’re calling on our amazing community to donate baked goods—cookies, cakes, brownies, pies, or your famous secret-recipe treats! Every bite supports health & wellness programs for our students.

Come for the goodies, stay for the good cause!

Big things are happening!!

Cumby Student Health Advisory Council would like to present to you , Cumby Collegiate Community Connection!!

We would love to see our group grow. S.H.A.C. is a group appointed by the school district level. Members of SHAC come from different areas of the community and from within the school district. We would love to increase our parent involvement. Our committee is one of the best ways to make sure parents and community members have a voice in our students health & education in schools.

We are cooking up something fun that you won’t want to miss!! 🧑‍🍳

Cumby PTO will be sponsoring Gingerbread Family Night December 5th starting at 6:30pm in the Cumby Cafeteria. They partnered up with Cumby Student Health Advisory Committee which recently had a Coat Drive in order to help us make the coats available to the public!

We had over EIGHTY ONE COATS donated to SHAC. 🩵❄️

We invite anyone in our Cumby community to come shop our Coat Pop-Up Shop at no cost to you, however if you plan to attend our Gingerbread Family night you MUST RSVP!! There are a variety of sizes to choose from some new and gently used coats as well as some hoodies and crocheted beenies.

Thank you to our generous community as well as Mount Zion Church members who made this coat drive a success.

We are so excited to report we have collected over 80 coats during our CUMBY SHAC Winter Coat Drive!!!

We will have new & gently used coats available to distribute very soon. If you or anyone you know is in need of a winter coat please come see what we have!!! ❄️🩵
