The Georgia Dirt Farmer's Daughter

My name is Mary Ann Witcher, and I am creating this page to honor and reminisce about my heritage as the daughter of a true Georgia Dirt Farmer.

I was born December 22, 1948, the first of three daughters of Frances Gorman Witcher and Robert Hall Witcher in Polk General Hospital in Cedartown, Georgia. As history has proved, I was a very strong willed and determined "little cuss". I was born with pyloric stenosis and had to under go major intestinal surgery at the age of 7 days old. So my journey through this world was primarily due to the strength and personal tenacity of myself and my strong Witcher family. So now if you want to learn more you just have to wander along with me as I blog about my experiences over the last 65 years.

It is time for me to tell my story. It will take some time but I am ready, thanks to a chance meeting with a lady that has unleashed an amazing memory of my childhood and feelings that I have repressed for way too long. I hope I can adequately express my memories and feelings in a manner that will help others to do the same. More to come . . . .
