Success Story:
Seven years ago, I moved to Bonita Springs from New York. In the first four years I saw my weight increase by 30 pounds. I knew I needed to get to a gym. I had been in gyms up North and notice that while I used the cardio machines with all the heavy people, the better shaped bodies were working with the weights. With some investigation I discovered that cardio must be combined with weight resistance.
I joined the YMCA and started working out with weights by myself. Big Mistake! I hurt myself. I spoke to a gal who was employed at the Y and she recommended that I call Kevin. I was a bit apprehensive to employ a Personal Trainer. In the past they seemed to be frustrated Marines drill sergeants. I didn’t want that.
I decided to throw caution to the wind and scheduled an appointment with Kevin. WOW! He is a remarkable PT and he has assisted me in growing muscles I didn’t think I had. He has encouraged me to persist in an exercise when my body cried to quit.
As Kevin has worked each body part, I have seen wondrous things happening. My thighs have been reduced half the size of what they were. The muscles in my legs are now more defined. He managed to give me something that I thought only God could grant me, a butt! It’s not a perfectly formed Brazilian Butt, but it is looking good. Being a heavy man means having sagging man b***s. Kevin has managed to lift them and I now see Pecs forming. My arms now have very defined muscles.
Sometime last year, I mentioned to Kevin that a friend had run in a Disney sponsored marathon. Kevin is his sweetly-kind persistent way began to encourage me and started getting me to see that I could run a 5K. He worked with me on the treadmill. He put an app on my phone that helped me track my outdoor runs. My best time was 36 minutes. My 5k run at Disney was about 40 minutes. I never ever thought about running in my life. I can’t say I love it yet, but I’ll keep trying.
