What’s expected:
- Calm, sensory-friendly environment: No bright lighting, loud music, or jingle bells

- A 10-minute visit with Santa before the mall opens to the public

Starting today, November 15th, winter parking regulations are in effect.

This means a winter weather parking ban CAN be called into effect for inclement weather including freezing rain or if 7 cm or more of snow are in the forecast.

Heading out and about this coming weekend?

Temporary "Special Event" signs are going up for events including Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend and the Great Glebe Garage Sale.

Additional officers will be out and all vehicles parked in tow away zones will be removed.

Please note: due to route changes for Race Weekend, Special Event - No Stopping Zones will now also be in effect in areas of Rockcliffe, including streets such as Lisgar, Mariposa, Princess, Cloverdale and Acacia.

📣 Federal minimum wage is going up to help you keep up with the cost of living. Make sure you get paid at the new rate starting April 1.

The federal minimum wage applies to employees in federally regulated private sectors, such as:

📦 postal and courier services
🚚 road transportation
📱 telecommunications
🏦 banks

Employers: Payroll information must be updated with the new rate by April 1. If the provincial or territorial rate is higher, you must apply the higher rate.

⚠️ Air Quality Update for Southern Ontario

VALID: 12 PM - June 7, 2023

Much of Eastern Ontario woke up to extremely poor air quality this morning with the AQI ranging from 300-500 in locations including Petawawa, Ottawa and Belleville. It appears that the air quality has marginally improved to put them in the unhealthy category, but Kingston still remains in the 'hazardous' category with an AQI of 312!

We are also seeing the air quality continue to deteriorate across the GTA and into Central Ontario with lots of locations reporting a very high AQI ranging from 150 to 200. This is expected to continue to be the case over the next few hours as that plume of smoke over Eastern Ontario moves southward.

Unfortunately, this is only a taste of what's to come as we are expecting even worse conditions tomorrow. More details on that later today!

PLEASE, stay inside and limit your exposure outside as much as possible. You should only be outside for critical reasons and for short periods. Yes, I'm looking at some of the schools that have irresponsibly decided it's still okay to let children go out for recess. 🙄 It's just not worth the risk - please stay inside!
