Older Americans Lead the Nation in Pet Spending, But Not by Much
A recent analysis of the 2022 Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Consumer Expenditure Survey by eTailPet found that older adults spent the most on their pets by a large margin compared to other age groups in 2021, reports Caledonian Record. Pets comprised 1.2 percent of expenses among Americans age 55 to 64 and 65 to 74 —tied for the highest as a share of total 2022 spending.
