Jacklyn747

Jacklyn747 Photographer/Light Painter Self-portraits started out being a therapeutic path of self-acceptance and ended up being the catalyst for an entire body of work.

Over time, as a fine art portrait photographer, themes of loss, friendship and self-awareness were developed out of necessity for Dallas, Texas artist Jacklyn747. Eventually, turning the camera around on the important people in her life while asking them the same difficult questions she'd asked herself over the years resulted in portraits that are somewhat of an anomaly. The entire body of work co

nsists of a very bizarre array of characters the Dallas, Texas underground, counterculture .Gay men, night life, drugs, illicit behavior, struggle, and the consequences of it all. An almost voyeuristic view into this raw,  human experience including becoming a sort of matriarchal figure to her homosexual friends who are almost all H.I.V. positive, dealing with death and eventually prison for the artist herself. Jacklyn747 breaks all the traditional boundaries of photography by providing us with a series of images that are wild and honest visual tale of an artist that uses her camera as a source of love, life-lessons, a way to connect and most of all the place she goes to find humility. Dallas, Texas photographer, light painter and artist documenting the human condition one moment at a time.
