💗 Emelita’s Closet Has a New Home! 🔑
When Emelita’s Closet was founded in January 2023, the goal was simple: to help seniors and families who need medical equipment but may not have the resources to get it.
Rambling Oaks Assisted Living generously allowed us to use space in their community free of charge…and we are incredibly grateful for their kindness and support in helping us get started.
But as their community filled up, the space was no longer available. Eventually, Emelita’s Closet shrunk into a tiny corner of my office — part break room, part supply room, part storage. Honestly, I began to seriously worry that we might have to shut it down.
And that would have broken my heart.
But today… I picked up the keys to Emelita’s Closet’s new home. 🔑
Lewisville Estates Independent & Assisted Living has stepped up in a big way and generously provided us with a large one-bedroom apartment where we can store donations and organize equipment for seniors and families who need it.
This means Emelita’s Closet can continue helping our community. 🎉
A very special thank you to Erin Caston.
If you know Erin, you already know she is one of the most amazing humans on the planet. She has the biggest heart and somehow always manages to find whatever someone needs. During the months when we didn’t have space, Erin was the one I called when someone had equipment to donate — and somehow she always made the magic happen and matched it to someone in need.
Erin now officially has her own set of keys to Emelita’s Closet. 👏🏼 👏🏼
And as she always says,
“It takes a village.”
And it truly does.
Our Emelita’s Closet village now includes:
• Lewisville Estates for providing the new space
• Brittany, Polly, and Lucy from Lewisville Estates
• Erin Caston
• Karyl Thomas
• Theresa Williams
We are so thankful that Emelita’s Closet can continue serving seniors in our community.
More information will be coming soon as we get everything set up.
