Hi y’all. Adidas here. I just returned home from the park. I have a question for you. Are you as thrilled as I am that Fall has arrived? ⁣

I’m really excited. Cooler temperatures means longer hair!! What girl doesn’t like to long hair, and I can run and play and not get over-heated. ⁣

Annie gets a little upset because the pace at the park is usually slower. For some reason it seems my need to explore every tree, every bench, and every corner of the park is intensified this time of the year. Maybe it’s from all the changes in the grass and trees, and my nose is to the ground most of the time because the smells are much more intriguing. ⁣

More of my friends are out walking as well so I need to go nose to nose, or tail to tail (you know what I mean) to say hi to them. ⁣

Then there’s the squirrels!! Lots of squirrels. They’re scurrying around collecting the last acorns from the trees. Annie let’s me off leash now and then so I can chase them. Such fun!! Then I sit at the base of the tree waiting for them to come down, but for some reason, they never do! ⁣

It sounds like we’ll be having some fun today. Annie’s already in the attic. I guess she’s getting all the fall decorations down. I can’t wait to chew up a pumpkin or two. It’s a tradition!! Not one Annie likes, but oh well. 🐶⁣

TABLE FOR FOUR...⁣

Have you ever been asked the question, if you could invite three others dead or alive to your table who would they be? It’s an extremely difficult question to answer. ⁣

My first choice would always be Jesus Our Savior, but he’s always at our table. My next would be my parents. One last hug, one last kiss, one last good-bye. ⁣

But for today, I’m choosing three others. I believe as life changes, the list changes as well. There are others I’d love to break bread with, both alive and dead, but these three kinda' top the list at this moment in time.⁣

I sense the magic of their presence would be a joy to share at the dinner table.⁣

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would top the list, just to see what he thinks of the mentality of people today, and if what he sees was what he intended when he stood up to racism, or if his dream has been diluted with too much entitlement beliefs.⁣

His peaceful protests were so influential. He, along with other peaceful protesters, were able to influence an entire nation and show them the horror of their ways. He was an amazing individual.⁣

My second would be the Reverend Billy Graham. I believe he sits among the most influential Christian leaders of the 20th century. He brought millions to Christ throughout the world and provided spiritual counsel for every president from Truman to Obama. Imagine the stories he could tell.⁣

I would love to hear their perspective on current events. I’d sit back, not answer, only listen, and truth be told; dry their tears as they witness small businesses being destroyed and God being taken out of everything, the very fabric of this country being shattered piece by piece, and I imagine both would feel as though their life’s work (which was so powerful), has no value.⁣

My third guest would be Kevin Hart because I think he’s the funniest human on the planet at the moment. He’d definitely inject humor into what would be an extremely heavy emotional conversation. The man’s hilarious!! ⁣

Share with me. How about you? Who would be your three be today and why? ⁣

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down. Wow! Wait a minute!⁣

It’s Sunday! That’s not going to happen.⁣

We’ve needed rain here for weeks, so I for one am doing a happy dance. ⁣

I love the smell of rain. I love listening to raindrop tap on the window panes and I love the effect it has on my flowerbeds.. ⁣

Today I am embrace it. I’ll take a cue from mother nature and use this day to nourish my soul and grow, and I’ll thank the Great I Am for all the food in my life and be grateful for all He’s given me. ⁣

My favorite verse from this great book is Psalm 139-9:10. “If I rise on the winds of the dawn or settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hands will guide me, your right hand hold me fast.” ⁣

We live in a chaotic and uncertain world at the moment. The one thing I do know for certain is when life seems to be spinning out of control, no matter how we’re feeling, God is working! ⁣

Happy Sunday my friends. Hoping it’s a wonderful day for you and that you and yours find pockets of joy throughout the day!

Everyone knows the story of the Charlie Brown Christmas tree. This is the story of the little Poinsettia. ⁣

I gave my mother a poinsettia plant prior to Christmas 8 years ago and she did a fabulous job keeping it alive. A year later it developed a disease and mom had to cut the stem down and tried to nurse it back to health. ⁣

The pointsetta never gained it’s full strength back and only grew to about 8” tall. It would sprout these tiny green leaves and remained small in stature. It seemed no matter what mom tried to do, it was determined to stay tiny, a stubborn little thing. Not pretty at all. ⁣

My mom passed 6 years ago and as sick as that little plant was, my dad was determined to keep it alive. It was still alive and it was part of her. He took on the responsibility of watering and caring for what I thought was a little mess of a plant.⁣

My dad’s been gone 3 years now. The day he passed I stood at the sink gazing out the window and there staring back at me was that ugly little poinsettia plant, and I knew; I had to bring it home and I had to keep it alive, because now it was a part of them both. ⁣

It’s grown a little taller and sprouts more leaves. I’m honestly scared to do anything to it other than water it. I’m totally attached to this plant, crazy I know. I think it’s the most beautiful plant on the earth, and did I just hear you say psychoanalysis?⁣

While renovating I took it with me to a friend’s house, place it by a box and had forgotten about it. and I had forgotten about it. I don’t think it was watered for 2 months. I was honestly scared to go get it, but there it was; weak and dry; but still alive. ⁣

Each time I look at it I have to grin. This stubborn little thing continues to grow. When it’s final leaves fall off one day I’m not sure how I’ll handle it, grief or relief. ⁣

Later this week I’m going to do some research and will try to propagate two leaves. I’d like them to be strong and hardy. I think it’d be a great gift to their grandchildren this Christmas because just like the little engine that could...this little plant continues to say I think I can, I think I can.

Help me please my IG peeps!⁣

You are my go to design team. I found these gorgeous chairs at Target last week and knew I had to have them. They fit perfectly in the breakfast nook. I want this area to be a spot where I can sit in the morning with my cup of hot chocolate, scan through your incredible feeds while watching Larry, Moe and Curly, the three squirrels who call my backyard home, scurry from tree to tree chasing one another, and ⁣
I want it to be an area where friends and overnight guests can sit and visit while I make them coffee and breakfast. ⁣

I’m just not sure what I need here to give it coziness and warmth. A rug yes? I was thinking cowhide. Thoughts? Pillows, throws? If you slide left you can see all the wall space. Leave it or add decor? Any and all advice is welcome. After all, you’re interior artists! ⁣

Have a great day and I look forward to reading your comments. Praying you find great pockets of joy throughout the day! ❤️ @ Dallas, Texas

I love houses. Big houses, small houses and tiny houses. You walk inside and it immediately tells you the story of the family who lives there. It reflects their taste, their values, and many times their culture. ⁣

I have lived in large and small houses. While large houses have their own list of benefits, I’ve realized they’re not really for me. I love my small home. I love it when friends gather here and everyone is connected no matter which room they’re in, which is exactly how a home should be. ⁣

Having a home where I know what is where, that I can decorate without overwhelming my budget, and where my family and friends spend most of our time together is the lifestyle I love. I want my home to give off those good welcome vibes. ⁣

I was at a point of moving or renovating and am so thrilled I chose renovating. It needed to be modern industrial farmhouse. I’ve loved that look since I was young. Always attracted to the vintage. The inside is complete and hopefully this fall the exterior will be painted to match the interior and my daily lifestyle. ⁣

One of my favorite spaces is this fireplace. I adore my concrete fireplace and can’t wait to use it when fall brings with it those chilly brisk mornings. It’s the first thing I’ll turn on when Adidas and I get back from the park. Followed by a milk bone for Adidas and a cup of hot chocolate for me. Ahhh...come on fall. You can’t get here quick enough!

Hello my IG friends and family. I’m so excited to be back! I’ve finally been released from IG jail. It was devastating not being able to chat with you on a daily basis. ⁣

I wanted to share what some fun trickster’s pulled on us the other evening. Have you ever had your yard “forked”? Well, this is a modern twist. I walked out the door early morning to take Adidas to the park and found out I had a “heart-attack” in my yard. Little blue, white and apple green hearts everywhere! Absolutely adorable! It was pretty easy to see who the culprit was. If you enlarge the photo you’ll see Denver’s artwork and his name. He did well for just turning three don’t you think? ⁣

There’s also a story that goes with this little attack. Denver’s parents are missionaries. They’re extended Such amazing hearts leading others to know Jesus. Lyndsey often hears God speak to her.⁣

I’m always wondering if I’m hearing God’s voice or if it’s just my own voice. I want to hear Him scream, yell and demand that I pay attention, and I know it doesn’t work that way, but I sure wish it did. Lyndsey’s experiences are incredible, some even miraculous. Always an affirmation the voice she heard was God’s. This one is small, but to me; huge!!⁣

She heard God’s voice telling her I needed some joy and she and Caleb decided to heart the yard. It just so happens the morning they chose was the anniversary of my mother’s death. They had no idea until I told them later that afternoon. It’s always a hard day, but this particular day, well; let’s just say, it began with great joy and a reminder of God’s love and the love of family!

“Very little is needed to make a happy life.” Marcus Aurelius⁣

Happy Sunday my friends! ⁣

Mr. Aurelius knows what he’s talking about. The problem is we need a lot of experience to understand it. ⁣

I can say more than half my life has been a giant race to obtain materialist things I presumed would bring me joy. More money, a great career, networking, forging ahead and finding success. ⁣

Then sooner or later we realize we are rich or poor according to who we are, not according to what we have, and at the end of the day, we each have a life that we have the power to steer. Live purposely my friends and find joy in the present with whatever you already have. If you find joy in the journey you are rich beyond measure. ⁣

I could get really serious here, but at the same time; it’s unrealistic to think we’ll ever stop wanting things. I for one, am glad; because oh how I love to shop. I love the vintage hunt most of all. ⁣

One of the perks about being a realtor is being able to see how cute others decorate. I always tend to snap a photo here, snap a photo there. ⁣

I snapped this cutting board and all I can say is, this would make me happy!! ⁣

What little things put a smile on your face?⁣
Singing and dancing when no one’s watching? ⁣
Listening to your favorite song on repeat?⁣
The smell of rain?⁣
The smile of a child?⁣
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens?⁣
When UPS or Amazon drops off a package?⁣

I could go on and on. Add to the list. What small thing(s) makes you happy?⁣

🎼 And you light up my life⁣
You give me hope to carry on⁣
You light up my days and fill my nights with song⁣

Corny I know, but we’re you singing along? Only if you lived in the 70’s, 1977 to be exact, and your parents or grandparents were Debby Boone fans and you learned the lyrics through osmosis. (It really is a good song!) Trust me. YouTube it. You’ll like it! ⁣

Was Instagram not incredibly inspirational this past week. I’m saying it one again. You ladies are amazing!! Yes, you! The one scrolling through her feed with coffee in hand. ⁣

This quote reminds me of all of you. “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give!” ⁣

You are strong! We saw gorgeous black and white photos of women standing alone, and together, encouraging and inspiring one another. Women building up women. You help me and others believe in ourselves by encouraging a “can-do” spirit with-in us.⁣

Then two days later I see hundreds of you speaking up and spreading awareness to the horrific crime of human trafficking. A topic so many are not aware of. Ladies, y’all are just so cool. ⁣

Here’s what I know. We rise by lifting others. You do that for me. I’m so honored to call you friend. I only wish we were neighbors so we could grab a cup of Joe and sit and chat. ⁣

So until then, I hope your day and your week is full of sunshine with pockets of great joy. ❤️
