When addiction occurs in a family, the entire system is impacted—often in ways we don’t even realize. Without meaning to, patterns develop that actually prolong the problem instead of leading to real change.

Maybe you’ve felt it firsthand:
❌ You try to help, but it backfires.
❌ You set a boundary, but it doesn’t stick.
❌ You don’t know what’s “helping” vs. what’s “enabling.”

You’re not alone. Boundaries are one of the biggest struggles families face when dealing with a loved one’s addiction.

That’s why I’m hosting a FREE LIVE WEBINAR to break it all down:
📅 March 26 | ⏰ 2pm ET

"I really need help setting boundaries!" When addiction occurs in a family, the entire system is impacted. Without realizing it, attitudes and behaviors develop that unwittingly prolong the problem and prevent effective intervention from occurring. Learning to recognize the imbalance that has occurr...

Check out my new blog post to learn how much treatment outcomes can be improved by helping families learn how to support treatment efforts.

The problem is, treatment programs struggle to provide enough time dedicated to making sure the families have the necessary resources to know their role in providing treatment accountability.

Gaps between the client, the family and treatment team are where important things fall through the cracks that lead to poor treatment outcomes.

This article gives families practical strategies for bridging those gaps and giving your loved one the best chance for successful recovery.

The Beauty Of Family Recovery: "I Feel Like We Got Our Daughter Back"

One night I was standing in my office with the parents of a 17-year-old treatment client.

We had just finished their daughter's graduation ceremony, where she had been honored for successfully completing the program. As we were having a little closure and saying our good-byes, the dad started getting emotional and burst into tears:

"I feel like we got our daughter back!"

Just a few weeks earlier, we had sat in that same office with those parents feeling hopeless and discouraged, thinking their daughter would never recover from her addiction.

In over three decades of working in the addiction treatment field, I've had the privilege of helping hundreds of families move from the chaos of an unaddressed substance use issue to healing for the entire family.

I hope you can join me for tomorrow's free webinar, where I'll be sharing my experience on what goes into successful drug treatment and what families can do to get to the same place this family did with their daughter.
