✅ Fact: These pups were bred to run alongside horse drawn carriages they love to move and need regular physical and mental stimulation.

Warmer weather means more time outdoors and a higher chance of unexpected snake encounters. VEHM, we see the effects of snake bites every season, and we want to help you keep your pets safe.

Here are some simple snake bite prevention tips to follow:

🌾 Keep grass short Snakes love to hide in tall grass and brush.
🚫 Stay on clear paths When walking your dog, stick to trails and avoid rocky or wooded areas.
🐾 Use a leash Keep pets close and under control, especially in rural or overgrown areas.
🧹 Clean up the yard Remove wood piles, debris, and dense shrubbery where snakes may nest.
🌄 Be extra cautious at dawn and dusk These are peak times for snake activity.

⚠️ If your pet is bitten:
Stay calm, keep your pet still, and seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Do not try to suck out venom or apply ice.

At VEHM, we see cats of all colors but there’s something extra charming about our fiery-furred friends! Here are some fun facts about ginger cats that might surprise you.

🧡 They're (almost) all boys!
Around 80% of orange cats are male due to the genetics behind their coat color it’s linked to the X chromosome!

🧡 They’re not a breed just a color!
“Ginger” cats can be any breed domestic shorthair, longhair, even Maine C***s as long as they sport that sunny coat.

🧡 They’ve got bold personalities.
Many orange cats are known for being outgoing, social, and a little mischievous though every cat is unique, of course!

Got a ginger cat at home? Drop their pic in the comments we’d love to see our orange-furred patients and friends! 📸💬
