- Deepen the national conversation about Black maternal health in the US;⁠
- Amplify community-driven policy, research, and care solutions;⁠
- Center the voices of Black Mamas, women, families, and stakeholders;⁠
- Provide a national platform for Black-led entities and efforts on maternal health, birth and reproductive justice; and⁠
- Enhance community organizing on Black maternal health.⁠

Bloom Box prioritizes Black maternal health. It is important for Black mothers to be advocated for, supported, encouraged, and properly taken care of in all stages of motherhood.

Peace! I’m Eve Akins founder of E.V.E. Birth Services and creator of E.V.E. Bloom Box. The fuel to launch my business was created by the education, victory and empowerment I gained when I birthed my son in my home, in-spite of my Obstetrician telling me I was likely to die trying. I knew right away that this was a blessing I could not keep to myself.

During my first pregnancy I was completely ignorant to my choices and I relied 100% on the instructions of my Obstetrician, I never did any research on my own.

My goal as a birth educator and doula is to help women educate themselves and their families about their bodies and their choices during their journey to, through and after pregnancy.

I want to help expecting mothers take control of their pregnancies and their births! I am making black history everyday, as I help rewrite the narrative for Black women in birth, and reclaim our birth stories!
