🧐 Bulging Disc vs. Herniated Disc: What's the Difference?
A bulging disc pushes outward like a flattened basketball without breaking its outer wall, common with aging and often asymptomatic.
A herniated disc involves a crack in the outer wall, causing inner gel to leak (herniate), leading to more severe pain and nerve issues because it directly presses on nerves.
Think of a bulge as a slow leak and a herniation as a rupture where the "jelly" spills out, though both can sometimes exist without symptoms. Swipe to see the difference illustrated!

🍩 Donuts with Docs: Our Quarterly Tradition!
Last week, we kept the clinic hustle and bustle behind us for our regular "Donuts with Docs" get-together! This tradition is a favorite because it has one simple rule: NO talking about work! It's a fantastic way for our providers and staff to connect, build more personal relationships, and enjoy some great treats! We love strengthening our amazing team.

Complex Spine, Scoliosis and Revision Surgery

At the Southwest Scoliosis Institute, we are committed to providing the highest quality care for the diagnosis and treatment of complex spine, scoliosis and revision surgery. New patients will meet their physician on their first appointment and he will examine your spine, understand your thoughts and symptoms, and communicate a clear diagnosis. He will then coordinate with you and your caregivers to devise a treatment plan just for you.

The Southwest Scoliosis Institute utilizes the team approach to deliver systematic, proven, and researched standards of scoliosis and spinal healthcare. Our spine team is comprised of surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, therapists, nurses and administrative staff whose primary goal is to help you get better and make the journey as comfortable as possible.

The Scoliosis Institute has many scoliosis and spinal deformity patients from abroad seeking the very best in spinal healthcare. Our medical practice offers Concierge Services for those traveling to the United States for medical care with our team.
