We have new informational flyers!

While doulas are starting to make a comeback, there are still many people who do not know what a doula does and why they should want their support! The research done in the last few years has shown astounding results. In a generation full of incredible technology and medical advances, it has become vital to have someone who can help you cut through all of the jargon and be there to inform you of you options and support you in your decisions.

DAY 7: Doula Friends

Today is the last day of World Doula Week. So, I would like to give a shoutout to all the doulas around the world that support each other without thinking of how it will affect their business. I have talked with so many doulas, from here in North Texas to ones on the other side of the world. They gave guided me, encouraged me, and walked with me every step of the way.

So thank you to all the doulas who educate, empower and support not only their families but their fellow doulas. ♥️ You mean so much to me.

DAY 6: My Work Space

This is my little bedroom office! I love how bright and cheerful it is, and I have little reminders of the things that matter to me around me while I work.

This is where I learn everything I can about pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and parenthood. I learn the good and the bad, the new statistics and studies, the myths and the facts, the beautiful stories and the heartbreaking stories, all so I can support families through it all.

The more I learn and the more families I support, the more humbled I am by His beautiful design and thankful to be a part of this truly important work.

DAY 5: Favorite Snack

My favorite things to bring to a birth are Larabars and Young Living's Ningxia Superfruit Drink. The Larabars give me a quick and healthy carb or protein fix and the drink gives me a natural boost of energy and focus. Not to mention protecting my immune system from the lack of sleep 😄

It is so important for doulas to take good care of their bodies, as well as their minds and emotions. Labor can sometimes last days and if we can't take care of ourselves, we can't take care of moms and their partners.

What ways do you take care of yourselves during a long day of work, parenting or just life in general?
I'd love to hear some comments below ♥️

DAY 3: Favorite Doula Bag Tool

While I think the most useful ways to help at a birth don't require tools, my favorites to bring are:

🌱Massage balls
🌱Cloths
🌱My rebozo from Guatemala (a long woven scarf with many uses originating from Latin America)

Some rebozo sifting, a cool cloth on the neck, or a back massage can change a lot for a birthing mom. From releasing tension that may hold a mom back from progressing in labor, all the way to using a rebozo method called sifting to encourage a baby to move into the right position for birth.

What helped you the most during labor? Leave me a comment down below ♥️

DAY 2: Landmark

I am from the Dallas, Texas area!
I have lived in this area my whole life and have had the blessing of meeting so many kind people here.
I love being Texan.

But, for those who don't know, Texas is lagging behind on maternal healthcare. While the state of care is saddening, I am so happy to be here because I want better for these mothers.

I feel honored to be apart of the doula movement of educating, empowering and supporting these strong mamas.

Happy World Doula Week!

Day 1 - Introduce Yourself

My name is Madison and this is my 95 year old grandfather, my Papa. That's right, 95. My family is the reason I fell in love with doula work. My Papa was married to my Mama for 67 years before she passed and they have a beautiful legacy through their love. 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Growing up, everything was about family, and our ever-present babies.

Now I hope to give that sense of family love to my clients and be by their side while they create their own beautiful stories. ♥️

One way that you might be able to cut down labor costs is to have a doula with you! Having a doula can be a valuable resource during labor because your doula can suggest options to discuss with your care provider that the medical staff may not have thought of or had the time to provide.

This can mean having less expensive interventions!

If you are worried about the cost of a doula, don't be. I offer payment plans to fit you because I believe every family deserves a doula.

Send me a message if you want more information about pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. I would love to meet with you and discuss how I can best support you. 😊
