Edgemere is proud to host monthly American Red Cross CPR/AED certification courses, open to the community. These sessions provide essential lifesaving training and are led by experienced instructor Holly Worrell, who has been teaching since 2005.

From January through May, our talented and generous Knit Wits team poured their hearts (and a whole lot of yarn) into creating handmade comfort for young patients at Children’s Health Hospital – Pediatric Cardiology. Here's what they accomplished:

👶 102 Baby Hats
🛏️ 20 Crib Blankets
🎗️ 85 Beads of Courage Bags

💪 1,418 total volunteer hours
💵 Equivalent value: $4,140.00 in handmade items!

We are so proud of our 10 volunteers who stitched love into every piece. Your hands and hearts have made a difference to children and families in their hardest moments.

The engines may have quieted, but the memories are still burning rubber! 🏁✨ Our Car Show at The Plaza at Edgemere was a success, from chrome-covered classics to amazing custom builds, each ride had a story and plenty of admirers. We had a special treat this week as a few talented students from North Mesquite High School’s Big Blue Band paid a visit to our Memory Care residents!

These amazing young musicians introduced themselves, shared stories about their instruments and musical journeys, and performed a variety of songs, both together and solo. They even gave us a live marching demonstration right in our community!

The performance struck a heartfelt chord with many of our residents, including an NMHS alum, a former clarinetist from the Florida State Marching Band, and a resident who once played both the tuba and saxophone. Their faces lit up with joy, pride, and fond memories.

A huge thank you to the Big Blue Band for bringing music, energy, and connection into our community!
