I’ll be honest—waking up early isn’t usually my thing. But after getting my own family photos done at sunrise recently… I’m fully convinced.

The light is soft and glowy, the kids are actually happy, and it’s not sticky and sweaty yet. Plus—you’re done before breakfast and back in the AC with pancakes by 9.

If you’ve got early risers (or just want to avoid the crowds and chaos of summer evenings), a sunrise session might be your new favorite thing.

Would you believe this session was shot while it was storming and totally dark outside?
Like… thunder shaking the walls, sky looking like it was 8 p.m. at noon vibes. But you’d never guess it looking at these images!

That’s the magic of shooting at the studio. We’ve got lots of windows that let in all the natural light, sheer curtains that diffuse light, white walls that bounce light around, and light floors that reflect everything beautifully.

So while the weather might’ve been saying cozy up and cancel plans, the studio was saying nah let’s make magic anyway!

On this Mother’s Day weekend, I want to take a moment to celebrate all the mommas out there—especially the ones running on coffee and very little sleep.

The early wake-ups, the endless questions, the meltdowns over the wrong color cup—it’s a lot. Motherhood stretches us in ways we never imagined. It tests our patience, our energy, and our capacity to function on zero alone time. But it also fills our hearts with more love than we ever thought possible.

As a Dallas newborn photographer, I get to witness those tender, raw beginnings of motherhood. I see the sleepy eyes, the quiet snuggles, the overwhelming love that pours out even when moms feel like they’re running on fumes. And I feel so honored to document it all.

Because the truth is, these moments don’t last forever. The baby curls, the toddler giggles, the way your child looks at you like you hung the moon—those are the memories worth holding onto.

Whether it’s through a newborn session, a family shoot, or just your everyday phone photos, don’t forget to capture the memories. Years from now, you’ll want to remember what this season looked like—mess and all.

I’m so thankful God gave me the title of “mom” to these sweet little blessings. They definitely test my patience—whether it’s the messes, the meltdowns, or the million questions before breakfast—but I love them more than anything.

Motherhood has stretched me in ways I never saw coming. It’s taught me how strong I can be, how deep love really goes, and how even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t trade this life for anything.

They drive me a little crazy sometimes, but they also make me laugh, keep me on my toes, and remind me what really matters. I’m just so grateful I get to be theirs.

There’s something truly special about being invited to document the real, raw, and everyday moments at home—especially when it’s the space that’s held so many firsts, milestones, and everyday memories!

This sweet family is getting ready to move out of their first home, and it was such an honor to be invited in to capture the everyday moments that make up the heart of their family life. We played on the floor, snuggled on the bed, built towers, and soaked in all the light, love, and laughter that fill this space.

These walls have seen so much—late-night feedings, giggles, quiet moments, and so much love—and now they’ll hold onto these memories, too, as this family turns the page to a new chapter.

POV: You book a session thinking it’ll be chaos… and it kind of is.
You’re chasing a toddler who has zero interest in smiling, someone’s lost a shoe, and no one is staying in one spot for long.
But in the middle of the mess, there’s so much love.
The way she looks at her babies. The way they play together.
This is what I want to capture—not in spite of the chaos, but because of it.
Because the chaos is the magic.
