During this time of social distancing and mass hysteria, we all need to remember to take care of ourselves. Try to find a little time to get outside for a walk or maintain some form of exercise if getting out is impossible right now.

I'm transitioning to an online format for personal training and yoga therapy sessions. If you're interested or have any questions, please feel free to reach out as I offer a free consultation/assessment.

Hoping we can all stay safe, and figure out a way to get thru this unprecedented time of our life.

Today, I celebrate 10 years of Syphon Fitness. A concept I started because I had a genuine interest in helping people overcome obstacles and become a healthier version of themselves.

It was a way to find my purpose in life and get out of the rat race of the corporate lifestyle.

In this journey, I’ve learned an incredible amount about myself and what I can do. The challenges I’ve faced and the rejections I’ve endured. The joys of accomplishment and the taste of success. I’ve enjoyed every twist, turn, and dead ends.

Today, I’m grateful being happy and abundant!

Multiple Sclerosis is a progressive disease that affects the Central Nervous System. There is no cure but symptoms and quality of life can improve from exercise and Yoga Therapy. See what a client said about her experience working with me.

“Michael at Syphon Fitness has become a welcome and critical part of my health and well being. As an older woman with MS, the yoga therapy and balancing exercises keep me flexible and has improved my balance, something I thought impossible with a progressive, degenerative disease. He gets me to do more intense exercises, usually after I’ve said I can’t. And then his patience and persistence pays off, and I surprise myself at what I have accomplished. I have been able to gain back strength and balance when the doctors have considered this impossible. The biggest surprises are the increases in my endurance and my sense of wellness. Michael is a very calm and caring and knowledgeable instructor. He listens to my words, as well as accesses my needs each session. He combines yoga therapy and fitness tailored to MS with intuitiveness and compassion, as well as a great sense of humor. He is the high spot in my day!” -Rebekah G.

About a year ago I started working with this client for chronic low back pain. Cause was a major accident that lead to some medical procedures I won’t go into.

During my initial assessment, I noticed some postural issues (left) which cause unbalanced movement.

My goal is to get the body back to proper alignment. Working with specific areas to either loosen tension and also strengthen. Also, incorporating relaxation and breathing techniques to help reduce pain level.

The photo on the right was taken yesterday, showing improvement with posture and alignment. Pain level can still be a challenge due to possible nerve damage from accident. But overall happy with the progress!

*FEATURED* in Thrive Global sharing “5 things I wish people told me before I started my own business” plus a bit of a background story about me.

Find happiness first — If you’re not happy within yourself; nothing externally will make you happy. Sure, more money and success can bring some joy. But, it may not always last, and it may lead to wanting more and more in which you’ll never be happy because you are always chasing to obtain...

Honored and excited to be presenting at (Symposium on Yoga Therapy and Research) in Newport Beach, CA this June! Presented by

My morning practice will focus on Accessible Yoga and ways to adapt to physical limitations and mobility issues.

The excuse of “I can’t practice yoga because I’m not flexible” will no longer be acceptable! This practice allows for ways to adapt to get the practice to fit to the person, not the other way around!

Healthy Gut, Healthy MYnd - Intro to Ayruveda for Digestion 🌱
Wednesday, January 16th 6:30pm-8:30pm .mind.space

Are you seeking to eat more in alignment with your body's natural needs, but not sure what they are? Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga, based on mind-body balance and eating the right foods for your unique physiology, environment, digestive system and even personality type.
It is scientifically proven that the Gut-Mind Connection is an intimate relationship. And the 2nd “brain” in our Gut affects our mental and emotional states. A troubled intestine can send signals to the brain, just as a troubled brain can send signals to the gut. Therefore, a person's stomach or intestinal distress can be the cause or the product of anxiety, stress, or depression. (Harvard Health Publishing)

In this class, we will explore your body’s constitution and find imbalances in your Ayruvedic Dosha.

We will Learn: -Ways of bringing your body back into balance by learning how to properly nourish your body. -Simple Yoga poses and breathing techniques to help with your digestion. -Cooking Demo of how to make Kitchari, a simple Ayruvedic dish that is excellent for digestion issues.

Kitchari will be served to all guests. To join us for this event, please register by clicking the link in bio!

We’ve seen the rise of group fitness or even train at home programs/devices that allow for workouts at your convenience. Yoga classes are popular, many of which are in Hot rooms. These are great and affordable options for anyone looking for something movement-based. Many of these classes don’t offer options for different bodies that perform at different levels. Give us a call and let us build a custom program for you!
Low Back pain affects around 80% of the population today. Studies are showing that Yoga can be just as effective as Physical Therapy when treating conditions of the Low Back.
