Join me for a guided walk where we explore both the visible and the invisible world of plants. You’ll learn how to identify wild edibles, medicinal herbs, and poisonous species… while also opening the door to a deeper relationship with the land.

The plants don’t just live in the physical world. They show up in our dreams, our intuition, and the quiet spaces within us.

I’ll guide you through plant identification, ecology, and medicinal uses, and dream teacher Valley Reed will be joining us to guide a portion of the walk… leading you on a journey through the dreaming world.

l ask all the birds to lift their songs to the winds and sing this prayer for peace

l ask all the trees and flowers, all that is green growing to open their hollow throats where the sap runs to call this prayer for peace

I ask the rocks to dream this prayer for peace

I ask the sand to rearrange its grains and write this prayer for peace

I ask the ocean wave to shout this prayer for peace or whisper it on the lonely listening beaches where the rivers will send it upstream in the willing breath of fish

I ask the deep wells to give rise to this prayer for peace

I ask the holy hills to toll this prayer for peace

l ask the stars to shine the spelling of this prayer for peace

and the moon and the sun pause in the sky as night and day, as right and left, as east and west as all that is opposite yet may still come into balance in harmony with this world, and in time

I ask for every candleflame to ignite this prayer for peace

so that this prayer is in the world and of the world and becomes the world and the world is peace.

September 18-20 for the Fall Equinox Women’s Retreat to dream into Otherworld Portals, Betwixt and Between the World Behind the World as the Turn of the Wheel from Summer to Fall creates a portal one may enter. Liminal spaces of twilight and crossroads in nature at the shore of the Otherside where the ancestors and departed loved ones and spirits of the land may visit in dreams and in the waking land on group dream journeys guided by the drum. “Reimagining Goddess Scholarship: At the Edges of Sacred Knowledge”

We’re honored to feature Apela Colorado, Ph.D. (Oneida-Gaul), a renowned Indigenous scholar, educator, and cultural bridge-builder whose work centers on restoring Indigenous wisdom and forging ethical relationships between Indigenous and Western knowledge systems.

A Ford Foundation Fellow, Dr. Colorado earned her Ph.D. in Social Policy from Brandeis University, with additional graduate study in Federal Indian Law and Child Welfare at Harvard University. In 1989, she founded the Worldwide Indigenous Science Network (WISN), which supports the revitalization, protection, and global exchange of Indigenous knowledge and practitioners.

Her presentation draws on decades of scholarship and leadership in sacred ecology, ancestral memory, and Indigenous methodologies, as well as her work establishing WISN’s graduate program in Indigenous Science and Peace Studies at the University for Peace (UPEACE) in Costa Rica. Through this lens, she explores how Indigenous knowledge systems offer vital pathways for ethical global dialogue, ecological responsibility, and spiritual relationship with land.

As part of our symposium, Dr. Colorado invites us to reflect on profound questions: How do we honor ancestral wisdom in contemporary scholarship? What responsibilities emerge when knowledge is held as sacred and relational?
