🎉 Let's celebrate a victory for Ezra and comprehensive care! Ezra was struggling to stay out of the hospital, but when PHS nursing was added the picture he was able to enjoy a streak of 7 months at home! 🏡

Meet Mateo, from Odessa, Texas! Mateo was born with a congenital heart defect, ascites, bronchomalacia and tracheomalacia, and he is one tough cookie! Doctors placed a chest tube and two PICC lines just a few days after he was born, and he had open heart surgery when he was only one month old. Mateo has now had a total of five surgeries and multiple bronchoscopies.

“Getting Mateo the trach was the best decision we made as parents. The day he got his trach was the day he was born again,” his mom said.

Mateo spent 99 days in the NICU and 32 days in the Transitional Care Unit, for a total of 131 days in the hospital before he was able to go home with a ventilator, a trach, a g-button and lots of supplies.

Once he got home, Mateo started improving quickly and eventually was able to be weaned off his ventilator and g-button. Although he cannot talk, Mateo communicates through sign language. His favorite words to sign are “more” and “Daddy”.

Mateo is so funny and silly; he will brighten anyone’s day. He loves to dance and loves his tablet. He is a normal baby, doing normal baby things, with just a little extra help with his airway. He faces challenges in delayed development and learning to walk, but he has wonderful therapists who are very patient with him.

“Seeing Mateo reach his milestones has to be the most rewarding experience we could receive as his parents. Having a child with a disability has its challenges: from planning your days accordingly, frequent doctor visits (some good, some not so good), and packing up extra supplies and medical equipment to see specialists far from home,” his mom said.

All the medical trauma and disability that Mateo has does not define the child he is now. If you were to see him now, you would never imagine everything he went through to be here. He is a strong, soon to be 2-year-old living his best life and getting into trouble!

I will forever be grateful to all of Mateo’s doctors, nurses, therapists, and DME company. Because of each and every one of you, Mateo is thriving the way he is today. Thank you. – Mateo’s Mom

Clyde is loved beyond measure. He is our micro preemie, our tiny hero, our miracle, our 27 weeker, our son… and the world is his! - Eileen, Clyde's Mom..
This National Nutrition Month, we want to celebrate Clyde and all the other kids who are able to grow with enteral nutrition! At 5 months old Clyde's family made the decision to have his G-tube and trach surgery to avoid more developmental delay. Our team provided training to help Clyde's family learn more about his needs and how to take care of him. Now almost two years since going home, Clyde is developing amazingly and loves to explore the world!

Our Stevie is doing big things! She has come SO far and we couldn’t be prouder of our RARE WARRIOR💪🏼 - Kelsey, Stevie's Mom. ..
On Rare Disease Day, we want to highlight one of our amazing kiddos, Stevie, who was born with a rare duplication of her chromosome region 16q11.2-q21. There are approximately 10 known cases in the world. After undergoing surgery a while back, Stevie contracted an infection and needed our infusion services. We're happy to report that Stevie is doing well!..
If there is one thing people should know about Stevie, mom Kelsey shared, "Don't limit her. Just get to know her and you will be amazed beyond belief."..

📢 News for EVO ventilator users! We are now adding a new disposable filter to your monthly supply box. In this video, Shellie will walk you through how to insert your new filter. This will help to make the airflow safer for vent users by doubling up the filter, so please continue to also use the washable foam filter as well.
