Texas Academy of Family Physicians—Dallas We're the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, part of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Join today!

Our members include Family Medicine physicians in the counties of Dallas, Ellis, Rockwall and Kaufman. The Texas Academy of Family Physicians unites the family physicians of Texas through advocacy, education and member services, and empowers them to provide a medical home for patients of all ages. As a TAFP member, you unite yourself with Texas’ largest subspecialty organization and the only organization that solely represents family physicians. Because we are unified with AAFP—America’s second largest sub-specialty society—and our local chapters, your TAFP membership grants you access to the rich resources and support at all levels. The Dallas Chapter holds monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of the most months (exceptions below). The current membership/invitation list for our meetings is over 800 with about half being active physicians. Every year in the Spring we have an Awards Banquet/Research Poster event. NOTE: Chapter meetings are generally the 2nd Tuesday evening of the following months: January, February, March, April, May, September, October, and November. We do not meet June, July, August, or December. Meeting dates may be altered since we hold our Family event on a Saturday and usually that is late March or early April.
