Yesterday brought heartbreaking news with the senseless killing of Charlie Kirk — a sobering reminder of how fragile life really is, and how much we need one another in times like these. It’s moments like this that remind us not to take a single day, or a single person we love, for granted.

Today also marks 24 years since September 11, 2001 — a day that changed all of us forever. We remember the shock, the sorrow, and the incredible courage we witnessed in the face of tragedy. The images of loss will always stay with us, but so will the stories of strength, resilience, and people coming together.

As we hold both of these tragedies in mind — one yesterday, one a generation ago — I find myself reminded of just how precious life is and how important it is to stay connected to the people who matter most. Let’s honor those we’ve lost by living with more kindness, choosing peace over conflict, and love over hate.

Please take a moment today to hold the families, survivors, and our nation in your heart and in your prayers. And maybe also reach out to someone you care about — just to let them know you’re thinking of them.
