Dr. Underwood graduated from the University of Georgia, College of Public Health, in Athens, GA, with a Bachelor of Science degree in health promotion and behavior. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, in Augusta, GA. Following her degrees, Dr. Underwood served a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, where she held the position of chief resident. She then completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Duke University Department of Pathology. Please welcome Venetia R. Sarode, M.D., to the team! Dr. Sarode is a double board-certified pathologist with robust professional medical, leadership, and research experience. Dr. Sarode graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Guwahati Medical College, Guwahati University, in India. She earned her medical degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India.
Afterward, Dr. Sarode served a residency in anatomic pathology at the same institution. She then completed a second anatomic and clinical residency at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. After that, she completed a third anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Westchester Medical Center, New York Medical College, in Valhalla, NY, followed by a fourth residency at the University Hospital of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, OH. Following her residencies, she completed surgical pathology and fellowships at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University. Please welcome Katherine O. Ayoade, MD, PhD, to the team! Dr. Ayoade is a board-certified dermatopathologist with robust professional experience and an impressive record of publications.
Dr. Ayoade graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She then attended graduate school at the same institution, where she completed a doctoral degree in biochemistry. While in graduate school, she began medical school and earned her medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Ayoade served an internship in internal medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. This was followed by a residency in dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She held a postdoctoral research position in the pharmacology and dermatology departments at UT Southwestern Medical Center before completing a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Between her degree and her residency, she served a yearlong postdoctoral fellowship in leadership education in neurodevelopmental disabilities at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology while at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
