Update on Christopher:

He is still in the hospital. A plastic surgeon and orthopedic surgeon will be visiting him tomorrow to look at doing skin grafts on his knee. His chest tube is still in for the fluid in his chest - but his lungs are looking better.

He will be at the hospital for approx one more week. Then he will be moved to a skilled nursing facility where he will receive 1-2 hours of physical therapy a day. He will remain there for about 2 weeks.

From there, we will need to find him a place to stay with 24 hour care. My apartments dont allow for this, so I am going to try to get him an extended stay hotel room for one week and hire a nurse to stay with him while I'm at work. The nurse will have to be paid for hourly and help him bathe, use the restroom, and feed him. His medicaid will not have hit by this time so I will have to pay for this out of pocket.

After that week, he will be moved to an in-patient physical rehabilitation center where he will be for 3 weeks receiving 3 hours of therapy a day and 24 hour care.

After that 3 weeks - he will be on his own. So we are looking for long term solutions.

My hope would be to sublease my apartment and get a place for both of us to live. Working on getting him social security benefits - but these things take time. And unfortunately, we don't have much time.

Please consider donating to help me pay for all of these expenses. We thank you SO VERY MUCH

Hello all.

I know it’s been a long road. And a lot of time has passed. I come to you today in desperation.

On 3/21 A car hit Christopher while he was walking, and they left him in the street. Luckily someone found him and called 911. He was rushed to the hospital and put in ICU with a torn spleen that caused internal bleeding, a collapsed lung, his pelvis is broken in three places, he has breaks thought his arms and leg. He was just taken off the ventilator and able to breathe on his own. He has a chest tube to relieve the fluid in his chest.

Currently, he is still in the hospital and will receive a skin graft to help heal some of the lacerations to his knee. After that, he will have to go through physical therapy for his body. All while trying to treat his schizophrenia. We have a long road ahead. Needless to say, shelters, mental hospitals, and the streets will no longer be an option for him. He needs a home.

If you have any questions- please reach out to me.

Here is the gofundme link- your donations are greatly appreciated and will assist with legal,
Medical, and other costs of recovery and ultimately a home for this man. He’s suffered enough.

Thank you.
