St. Joseph Day for For Love & Art!

"Bebo" won the "Best in Show" for the energetic seniors at Joseph's Residence for Seniors in Oak Cliff, and "Dogwoods in a Vase" stole the top honors at CHRISTUS St. Joseph Village - Coppell.

For Love & Art took everyone on a break from cataclysmic storms and earthly turmoils to "Celebrate the Art Experience" at Edgemere Senior Living while visiting The Clark and inhaling great European Impressionists and their American contemporaries.

So many Monets, Pissarros, Degas, Cassetts, Renoirs--this fabulous museum, sourced by the Singer Sewing Machine fortune in the persons of Sterling and Francine Clark, is certainly worth a visit when visiting New England.

This George Inness took "Best in Show" honors with stiff competition.

Inness, from New Jersey, strove to portray man and nature in perfect harmony. Did he accomplish this here?

I had the thrill of bidding $200,000 on an Inness at auction in Dallas. Luckily, someone bid more....

By the way, Inness liked this painting so much he kept it for himself. His son claimed it was his favorite!

"That looks just like my dear Daddy when he was a little boy," exclaimed Maxine, a resident at Senior Care in Collin County. "He fought in that Great War, WWII, and raised us kids to be kind and respect people. I talk to him as I walk by his portrait on my dresser every day."

Many of her fellow residents nodded in assent as they remember their loved ones who served our great country.

You sure can learn a lot about people when they share the Art Experience. And that's the point. Knowing people, Loving people, Honoring people, while using art to trigger the very best of their lives.

This fine work can be found at Amon Carter Museum of American Art, where the For Love & Art project all began back in 2010. We sure are grateful for their mentorship...and so is Maxine!
