Congratulations to Chef Hector Aguilar for winning a 2026 TALA Hero Award! Chef Hector has been an essential part of The Preserve at Spring Creek since before the community officially opened in May 2024. From day one, he has approached his role with dedication, pride, and a deep sense of responsibility for the residents we serve.

One of the clearest examples of Hector’s heroism was demonstrated during the 2026 Texas ice storm. As conditions worsened and travel became unsafe, Hector made the decision to remain on site every single day and night. He ensured that residents continued to receive warm meals, familiar routines, and a sense of normalcy during an incredibly stressful time.

Executive Director Robert Braley said, “Hector’s dedication during times of challenge, coupled with his everyday consistency and compassion, make him truly deserving of the TALA Hero Award.”
