Bent Tree Animal Hospital

I've had many pets over my life and many vets seen in my lifetime. No one is as good as the staff at bent tree.

My girlfriend is a bleeding heart and takes in strays all the time, bent tree doesn't judge and helps us when we have questions and help.

Little insight, we took in a female 5 month cat. Took it to Noah's ark as it was closer to get spayed. Well before leaving we ask if the cat will need a cone or anything we should know about after care. The lady at the front desk made an annoyed face and said she probably doesn't need it. Okay cool, I'm not a vet or vet assistant I don't know. Day in cat has licked this wound raw and it's red. Go back to Noah's ark, same annoyed lady gets us a cone that seems a little short, okay no worries, maybe it's supposed to be that short...nope now the wound is open

Took this cat to Bent Tree and got help instantly.

"this cat should have a better longer cone" they got her stitched back up, on some anti-biotic to prevent infection, and asked us to bring her back in to check up on her after.
He's mad because I told him he wasn't going to get to go to Bent Tree Animal Hospital this week. He likes staying there and luvs all of the care givers!!! #theonlyplace my dogs will go ♡
Love these guys. They texted me to check on my Baileigh's itchiness. Does your vet do that? Thank you BTA!❤
Is there a place where I can see the maximum cost for all the procedures (especially preventative and microchipping for adult dogs)?
Thank you for letting my mommy know why my leg hurt. I’ve been the bigger kitty and forgave her.

And I’m sorry to the tech for the look you could hear.
I have a question. I'm going to adopt a kitten from my partner's coworker. How long should we wait to remove the kitten from it's mama?
I talked to Diane this morning, but just wanted to let you all know how very much I appreciate the excellent care and love you showed Roscoe for the almost 12 years my sweet boy got to be on this earth. He loved y’all SO much and got super excited every time I told him we are going to the vet.

My heart is absolutely shattered, but I am so very lucky to have had y’all providing the best care for my precious meatball all these years. And, I am also so very sorry y’all didn’t get a chance to say goodbye. My heart breaks for that reason too.

Please enjoy the sideshow and again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you ♥️

Hours of entertainment! Grayson loves his new toy! Winston and Salem had to make an appearance too.
Grayson is making himself at home.
Tried calling Saturday evening with an emergency and their phone does not even go to a voice mail.
The chonk is feeling much better.

Meet Bel Air! This dog has a regal appearance, and he wants to be the prince of your heart. He is a Retriever mix with a white coat all over. He is less than two years old, so he still has a lot of youthful energy in him. He’s a big little boy at 65 pounds, and he might add a pound or two before it’s all done. Bel Air is a snuggler and loves to get lots of attention. In a yard he will take off at a full sprint, but regularly come back to check in with his human while he plays. He’s not too picky about the home he goes to, as long as it is stable, loving, and filled with toys. He also needs a good bit of play time and exercise and wants his human there with him for it all. Bel Air came to the SPCA of Texas as a stray from Ellis County, and his demeanor makes it very clear he never wants to be all alone again.

The SPCA of Texas is running an adoption special with $25 for adult dogs and cats. Regular adoption fees are $150 for puppies and kittens aged 0-6 months and $75 for adult dogs and cats aged 6 months or older. Fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test for dogs six months and older and a FIV/FeLV test for cats 4 months and older, initial flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative, a microchip, 30 days of PetHealth Insurance provided by PetHealth, a free 14-day wellness exam with VCA Animal Hospitals, a rabies tag and a free leash.

The Jan-Rees Jones Animal Care Center is open for adoptions every day from noon to 6 p.m. Animals are available by walk-in on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments are also available for select animals. Please browse available animals at spca.org/findapet and visit spca.org/dogadopt to inquire about a dog or spca.org/catadopt to inquire about a cat.

Ari

Meet Ari! Ari is a year-old cat looking for a forever home at the SPCA of Texas. She is a Domestic Shorthair mix with striped grey fur and large luminous green and yellow eyes. She is still a tiny little thing weighing only 5 pounds. Ari came from an animal cruelty case in Kaufman County. She can be a bit shy at first but after a warming up period will be more than happy to get some serious chin-scratching done. It might also be helpful to have another cat in the house to help her relax and get used to a new environment. In the beginning of her new journey, she may want to hide a bit and hopefully her new parents will be patient with her. Ari is currently at the Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas and can be visited any day between noon and 6 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

This week’s adoptable pet is Zeus. He is a big ole’ male Pit Bull, Terrier mix weighing in at a whopping 98 pounds. At first sight Zeus can seem big and tough, but the truth is he is a complete goofball. He has made great appearances at the SPCA of Texas mobile adoption events where everybody loves to pet him and remarks on how friendly he is, but he has not found his own forever home yet. Zeus came to the SPCA of Texas after his previous owners found out they were in violation of their lease restrictions. He is six years old and will sit for treats. He usually does well with other dogs but doesn’t really like cats at all. Zeus is a very inquisitive and intelligent dog. He would love to have a big backyard with a secure fence to play in, but the type of fence is important as this smart guy has figured out how to climb chain link fences.

The Jan-Rees Jones Animal Care Center is currently closed to the public as a safeguard against the recent distemper outbreak. Appointments are available for dogs who are medically cleared or are currently in foster care. Cats are still available for adoption at any of the five PetSmart locations where cat adoption centers operate. A complete list of available locations is available on the SPCA of Texas website. Meet Miles! He is a large dog at almost 80 pounds, and is a big beautiful mix of Great Dane, Labrador and Retriever. He is also 10-and-a-half years old and is already familiar with basic commands and he is also housebroken. Miles has a coat of black fur, with white trim on the underside and tips of his paws. For an older dog, Miles is still quite active. He loves to get out and exercise, getting in a bit of a run and go for a roll in the grass. Inside he can be quite the lap dog, snuggling on the couch with his favorite human. He has an overall calm disposition and is quite the loyal friend. Miles would do best as the only pet in the home, and the whole family should meet him before adoption. He is currently in foster care and requires an advance appointment to meet him.

With more than 1,000 animals in its care, the SPCA of Texas has extended its $25 adoption special through the end of June.

The Jan-Rees Jones Animal Care Center is currently closed to visitors and volunteers due to an outbreak of canine distemper virus. Dogs and cats in foster care and off-site adoption centers are not affected. Appointments are also available for animals in foster care. Please browse available animals at spca.org/findapet and visit spca.org/dogadopt to inquire about a dog or spca.org/catadopt to inquire about a cat.

Meet Deena! She is a seven-and-a-half-year-old Terrier, American Pit Bull mix who is sporting some serious puppy dog eyes. She has a light buff and white coat and weighs in at 39 pounds. She is currently hoping for a forever home at the SPCA of Texas. Deena walks well on a leash and takes her treats very gently. She has a bit of energy behind her but loves to loaf around on sofas too. Deena tested positive for heartworms and has been receiving treatment from the staff at the SPCA of Texas. She is doing well but will need to return to the clinic for some treatments in the near future. Deena would do best as the only dog in the home, as sometimes other dogs can be mean (and she can be a little bossy). A meet-and-greet is required for any children under 10 years of age, and anyone else in the home should visit her at the shelter too. To meet Deena, come and visit her at our Jan Rees-Jones Animal Care Center in Dallas any day between noon and 6 p.m.

Remember adopters can draw for their fee ($-25) until the end of May.
