It's Texas, it's summer, it's hot! While having fun-in-the-sun, it's good to know the signs of heat exhaustion and what to do about it. Signs can include cool, moist, pale or flushed skin, heavy sweating, headache, nausea, dizziness, weakness, fatigue and cramps in the legs or abdomen. What should you do? Get to a cooler place, rest, lightly stretch any sore muscles, remove tight clothing, and slowly drink about 4 ounces of cool water every 15 minutes. If possible, apply wet cloths or towels to the skin. If symptoms do not improve or worsen, do call 9-1-1.
